Women’s Creative Movement with Amina Khayyam Dance Company Join professional dance artists from Amina Khayyam Dance Company for this special, women-only creative movement project. Drawing on Kathak dance, these sessions aim to support creative self-expression. About Amina Khayyam Dance Company: A critically acclaimed, award-winning touring company, the Amina Khayyam Dance Company makes touring work using Kathak as the core narrative. It works in collaboration with those who are culturally least engaged, economically challenged and societally disenfranchised – with a focus on the marginalised female voice, the company adds theatre, live art, and technology, striving to make relevant, engaging work through a process of collaboration, participation, and opportunities for creative and cultural expression- shaping a process that empowers women creatively as stakeholders. Since its formation in 2013 has made 15 pieces of work, performed over 160 shows in over 40 venues (including outdoors), digital platforms, nationally and internationally.

Come and join Artist Linda Markey from Camden Adult Learning to learn techniques in block printing on textiles. We will use differnet methods of printing on paper and fabrics, and look at how artists, designers and cultures have used blockprinting. We will make our own fabric designs and use them for personal projects such as teatowels, bags and panels. This course is free with materials provided. Beginners welcome! Work with Zoe from Working Mens College in a relaxing five week course. Be inspired by the beautiful geometric embroidery found in Kimonos and textile items of the Ainu people of Japan. During this course you will learn how to draw, applique and stitch a design onto a panel of fabric.This panel may be displayed as a wall piece or be constructed into a small drawstring bag to keep special items or sewing accessories.
