Volunteer Role Description

Role Title: IT Recycling Volunteer

Responsible to: Operations Manager/IT Supervisor

Areas of Responsibility:

As an IT Recycling Operative, you will assist us with our IT recycling operations. You will be expected to be professional and hard working. It is important that you are able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, particularly staff and other volunteers. A level of manual dexterity is required, as you will be expected to use tools such as screwdrivers.

Duties Include:

· Dismantling PCs, laptops, servers and other equipment

· Removing parts and cutting wires;

· Sorting and organising waste materials;

· Assisting with physical data destruction;

· Assisting with collections of IT equipment;

· Cleaning and tidying the workshop area;

· Other duties as required by your manager (Operations Manager) or any other member of staff.

All roles are subject to change and you may be asked to perform duties in any other area of the business.

Skills Required:

· Ability to follow instructions and work in a team;

· Honesty, trustworthiness and dependability;

· Flexibility and willingness to try new things.

We are flexible to accommodate your availability but our volunteer hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm. We will provide you with appropriate informal training that will help you fulfil your role. All volunteer placements are at the discretion of the management team and are subject to a probationary period to ensure placements are appropriate for both parties.
