Detached Youth Sessions – Alvaston
Funded by BBC Children in Need – McDonald's Makin' It Programme
Supporting Communities delivers detached youth work sessions across [Location] through the BBC Children in Need – McDonald's Makin' It Programme, engaging with young people in the places where they naturally spend their time. The project provides trusted youth work in local communities, helping young people access positive opportunities, build resilience, and reduce anti-social behaviour.
Our experienced youth workers support young people aged 8–17, offering informal advice, mentoring, guidance, and access to positive activities. Sessions focus on improving emotional wellbeing, building confidence, developing life skills, and encouraging young people to make positive choices while strengthening their connection to their local community.
Through regular outreach, we engage young people who may not access traditional youth services, providing early intervention, signposting, and pathways into wider Supporting Communities programmes, including youth clubs, volunteering opportunities, workshops, and targeted 1:1 support where appropriate.
