This stop-motion animation workshop offers a balanced mix of fun, creativity and learning through teaching young people the art of stop-motion. Participants will create a mini-film using a variety of media, cameras and stop-motion software to tell a short story.
Young people will learn:
- New creative skills such as animation and production
- Using art to express feelings and emotions
- Teamwork through collaboration with others
- Storytelling skills through the creation of a short animated film
Firstly participants will be given a theme and asked to work in groups or on their own to create a story board, then young people will be shown an easy to use stop motion app on an ipad, tablet, or phone (provided). Next, it's time to set up your back scenery and then the exciting part comes where you'll get to start filming. Using the simple instructions on the app and guided by our tutor, young people will then created a series of photos to use in their mini film. We'll then show them how to add finshing touches such as music and text using canva software.
During this session we'll be serving a hot lunch of tomato and cheese or chicken and cheese pasta bake with veggie sticks. We'll also have fruit and yoghurt for dessert and as usual water or juice are provided throughout the session.
