Green Health Fund & Community of Practice Launch

We are delighted to invite you to the launch of Surrey’s new Green Health & Wellbeing Fund and the Green Health Community of Practice, taking place at the beautiful Leith Hill Place on Wednesday 7 October, from 9.30am–13.00pm.

With initial funding from Surrey County Council, Community Foundation for Surrey is establishing a new Green Health Fund to support organisations using nature, outdoor spaces and the environment to improve people’s health and wellbeing.

We are establishing the Fund as a Collective Fund, with the ambition of attracting additional donors and funders to grow the funding available and support this important work in Surrey for the longer term.

But we want to do more than provide grants.

Alongside the Fund, we are launching a new Green Health Community of Practice, bringing together organisations from across Surrey to connect, share learning and expertise, develop partnerships and help strengthen the green health sector.

We would love you to be part of it.

Our launch event will be an opportunity to:

• hear more about the new Green Health Fund and how it will work;

• help us shape the new Community of Practice and the support it could provide;

• meet and network with other organisations involved in green and blue health across Surrey;

• share experiences, ideas and opportunities for collaboration; and

• enjoy some practical involvement in green health and wellbeing activities in the surroundings of Leith Hill Place.

Our ambition is for the Community of Practice to be shaped by its members and to help organisations delivering green health activity in Surrey become stronger, better connected and more sustainable – while also helping us make the case for greater investment in this work.

Whether you are a small community organisation, an established green health provider, an environmental organisation or working more broadly in health and wellbeing, we hope there will be something valuable for you – and that you will bring your own experience and ideas to the conversation.

Please note that attendance is capped at two representatives per organisation to give as many organisations as possible the chance to be involved.
