Description

The Ironville Railway Carriage Youth Club, a unique community-based youth provision located in Ironville, Derbyshire. The club provides a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for young people aged 8–17 to socialise, learn new skills, access support, and participate in positive activities.

As the only dedicated youth provision in the local area, the club plays a vital role in supporting young people, reducing social isolation, and providing constructive opportunities during evenings and school holidays. Sessions are led by experienced youth workers who build trusted relationships with young people and offer early intervention support where needed.

Young people can access a range of activities including sports, gaming, arts and crafts, music, workshops, community projects, and educational sessions covering topics such as mental health, healthy relationships, knife crime awareness, and personal development. The club also provides opportunities for trips, volunteering, and youth-led activities that help develop confidence, resilience, and life skills.

The Railway Carriage Youth Club welcomes over 50 active young people and works closely with local schools, families, community groups, and partner agencies to ensure young people have access to the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
