Description

Alongside our usual Stay and Play fun this week, we’re hosting a special Community Quilt Workshop in the sensory room with Hackney-based artist Aya Haidar as part of Refugee Week.

This relaxed, creative session invites adults attending Stay and Play to explore the question:

“What does community mean to you?”

Through conversation and simple textile techniques, you’ll be supported to design and stitch your own fabric square. The squares will be sewn together into community quilt, created by participants across our weekly groups to be displayed in the hall upstairs.

🧵 No sewing experience needed

🧵 All materials provided

🧵 Children are welcome to join the conversation and play nearby — the making activity is just for adults

To help us manage numbers, please select “YES” on the booking form if you would like to take part in the quilt-making.
