Description

Alongside our usual Stay and Play fun this week, we’re hosting a special Community Quilt Workshop in the sensory room with Hackney-based artist Aya Haidar as part of Refugee Week.

This relaxed, creative session invites adults attending Stay and Play to explore the question:

“What does community mean to you?”

Through conversation and simple textile techniques, you’ll be supported to design and stitch your own fabric square. The squares will be sewn together into a community quilt, created by participants across our weekly groups to be displayed in the hall upstairs.

🧵 No sewing experience needed

🧵 All materials provided

🧵 Children are welcome to join the conversation and play nearby — the making activity is just for adults

To help us manage numbers, please select “YES” on the booking form if you would like to take part in the quilt-making.
