This 8 week, in person course is designed for Parents or Carers of older children and teenagers who are displaying challenging behaviour.
Please note all 8 sessions must be booked together as a package - one off attendance is not possible.
Non-violent resistance (NVR) addresses violent, destructive and harmful behaviours in children and adolescents. NVR can help parents and carers overcome their sense of helplessness. It can help develop a support network that will stop violent and destructive behaviours both in and out of the home. It can improve relationships between family members and the outside world.
NVR shifts the focus from controlling the child to empowering the parent. The goal is not to change the child’s behaviour directly, but to help the parent resist it non-violently and consistently. Success is measured by the parent’s actions, not the child’s response. This approach builds parental presence—the parent’s influence even when not physically present—and fosters confidence and effectiveness, regardless of the child’s behaviour.
