O&E Family Litter Picking Paddle Session

Join our summer holidays, family, litter-picking, paddle session and help make our waterways cleaner and greener!

Grab your trash bag and jump in a boat and let's work together to rid the waterways of plastic waste and make a positive impact on the community.

Whether you're completely new to paddlesports or looking to build your confidence on the water, our friendly instructors will guide you through the basics in a supportive, relaxed environment.

In this session, we will be using our 4 x double kayaks and 1 x katakuna. You cannot pre-select which craft you will be in, this will be done on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Each double kayak can fit 1 adult (female only) plus 1 child.

The katakuna can fit 2 adults (female only) plus 2 children.

If you are booking for yourself and a female child, they must be over the age of 4.

If you are booking for yourself and a male child, they must be between the ages of 4-11.

One booking is for 1 female adult plus 1 female OR male child.

All paddling and litter picking equipment will be provided.

Oar & Explore

This session is held by Oar & Explore. We’re a community-led initiative in East London, helping women, especially those from Muslim and global majority backgrounds, feel confident taking up paddling and getting on the water.

Every woman should have the chance to try paddle sports, and we're here to help break down any barriers— whether it's cultural, religious, or financial.

Since launching in 2022, we have grown from an 18-woman class to nine certified instructors and over 100 participants.

Our aim is simple: to make paddling more welcoming, keep it affordable, and encourage more women to grow into community leaders.
