How Enterprise works?
On Enterprise, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge you’ll need to launch and grow your business, thanks to free, flexible training and mentoring from business experts.
Throughout Enterprise, you’ll have opportunities to apply for Start Up funding to cover start up costs and grow your business.
You'll benefit from support across three key stages of your business start up journey:
Business Planning
Embarking on your journey to start your business with the Enterprise programme means you’re never alone. We provide the training and guidance you need to grow your confidence in yourself and your business and make your launch a success.
- Get one-to-one support: A dedicated Trust contact will be your guide for up to 12 months as you plan, test, and launch your business. They’re there to help you navigate the path to success. You may meet in person or online, depending on your circumstances.
- Plan for success: Our team will guide you in creating a robust business plan. Your plan is more than just a launch pad for your business – it’s a roadmap for sustained growth.
- Learn and grow: Take part in our interactive workshops covering essential topics such as business planning, marketing, selling skills, money management, bookkeeping, and tax. These workshops run regularly, allowing you to join at the right moment in your business planning. You’ll meet and learn from others who, like you, are on their own journey to starting a business.
- Test and review: With the opportunity to apply for a Test My Business Idea grant of up to £500, you can test your business idea in a real-world setting.
Business Launch
- Finalise your plan: Submit your business plan to us. Our team will review it to ensure your idea is viable and sustainable, providing you with valuable feedback to help you succeed.
- Apply for funding: If you need help to cover your start up costs, you can apply for Start Up grant and loan funding totalling up to £30,000.
- Become a King's Trust–supported business: On the Enterprise programme, you’re not just launching a business – you’re joining a supportive community that wants to see you succeed.
Business Advance
We’re here to be your guide over the next three years, helping you through the twists and turns as you build your business.
- Stay on track: With regular action planning and the support of a dedicated business mentor, we’ll help you stay on the right path. Your mentor – a volunteer with business experience – will guide you through planning, overcoming challenges, and seizing opportunities. And they’ll champion your success.
- Keep learning: Enhance your business skills and boost your confidence with our expert-led workshops online or in person. Dive into specialist topics and gain insights from business and industry leaders.
