At Hebburn Helps, we are dedicated to providing support to local families who are facing hardship and struggling to meet their basic needs. Through our Community Food Bank and Crisis Response Team, we offer a range of essential services including food parcels, clothing, baby equipment, toys, and household items. Our efforts have made a significant impact on individuals and families in our region, having assisted numerous people in their time of need since our establishment in June 2015. We rely on the generosity of the public for donations, as we receive no government funding, and greatly appreciate any support in the form of food items, clothing, household goods, or volunteering. Our work is crucial in ensuring that those in our community who are most vulnerable receive the assistance they require to improve their circumstances.

In addition to our direct support services, Hebburn Helps also collaborates closely with local schools and authorities to ensure that food is accessible to the most vulnerable individuals in our community. We are committed to making a difference during times of uncertainty and rely on the ongoing support of our community to continue providing essential aid where it is most needed. Our impact extends beyond just providing material assistance, as we also aim to create a sense of community and solidarity through our efforts. With the dedication of our volunteers and the support of local businesses, we are able to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those facing hardship in our region.

Children and young people across South Tyneside can access free, nutritious food and enriching activities over the school holidays, as the Department for Education (DFE) has confirmed funding for the holiday activities and food programme (HAF). These free holiday clubs will support families who are eligible for benefit related free school meals. Activities include: Musical Theatre, Football, Multi-Sport, Dance and newly added activities Darts and Yoga. Our 'Teen Ticket’ allows teenagers access to many attractions across South Tyneside, without a parent needing to be present. Winter Activity Bookings Opens Soon! The next programme of holiday clubs is during the school winter holidays (Monday 22nd December - Sunday 4th January 2026). Bookings for winter activities will be available from Wednesday 19th November at 3:30pm. Keep checking back as more sessions will be added regularly! All events are subject to availability and booking is essentialTo be eligible to attend the holiday activities, children and young people must: be eligible for <a href="https://www.southtyneside.gov.uk/article/2634/Free-school-meals" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">benefit related free school meals</a> be aged 5 to 16 years old or up to 18 with SEND (SEND children must still qualify for free school meals) and live or go to school in South Tyneside.
