Description

The Boys Empowerment Club exists to help boys aged 9 – 11 in developing socio-emotional skills to empower them through mentoring and sports

Young people who are physically active have increased mental wellbeing, improved concentration, learning, attainment, confidence, and social skills. This can contribute to cutting suspension and exclusion rates, which disproportionately affects boys.

The project aims to use physical activity to engage with boys in years five and six. Specifically, the project aims to:

  • Increase physical activity participation

  • Support mental wellbeing and socio-emotional skills

  • Contribute to a reduction in suspensions and exclusions

  • Support and complement the council’s initiatives with Black boys

  • Build positive relationships, confidence, emotional regulation, and resilience

  • Encourage pro-social behaviour, teamwork, and school engagement

Please ensure your child brings a bottle of water to stay hydrated.
