I am abseiling down the I360 to fundraise for Figment Arts - to open Port Studio, a creative community hub. I don't like heights.
I'm David, I run Figment Arts, a creative community focused arts organisation. I'm so proud of Figment Arts, it's grown over the years into an amazing team of collaborators, artists and community members.
I've been thinking seriously over the last couple of years about what would happen if we put down some roots, ran all of our activity in one place and developed a programme that is shaped by the community, for the community.
Port Studio is about realising that dream. Somewhere we can call a place of our own. Somewhere open, welcoming, inspiring, supportive and creative. I honestly feel like all roads have led to this place.
Thanks to the Focus Foundation, who are funding some of our Children and Families work, we've been offered a charity place to abseil down the I360. I'm not good up a ladder, so wish me luck! Please know that your donation will help us to make Port Studio a reality - thank you for your support
