The Fire Place - After-school Free Thursday evening after-school sessions at Bentinck Street Community Garden for young people aged 11-18 years. ​​Learn new outdoor skills like fire lighting and tool use whilst hanging out in a safe&nbsp;place with friends, led by our qualified team.

<h2>A Garden for Change, Hope, and Community</h2>​Here We Grow&nbsp;is a community-led project to regenerate a derelict plot at&nbsp;Bentinck Street, Birkenhead, turning it into a safe, welcoming garden. In January 2025, we secured £31,000&nbsp;from the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority and over 100 local supporters. This funding kick-started our mission to create a&nbsp;vibrant space for growing food, building skills, and fostering wellbeing.​Just months later, the garden is flourishing—with raised beds of fresh produce, fruit trees, wildflower and wooded areas, and welcoming social spaces. Local volunteers, schools and families are already using the space to grow, learn, and connect.&nbsp;

Grow-Wellbeing CIC

Grow Wellbeing CIC runs practical outdoor programmes that reconnect people with nature, support wellbeing, and build a sense of belonging.

We work with children, young people, families and adults through structured, relational activities in natural settings. Our programmes include wellbeing support, early-intervention mental health provision, Forest School, skills and training, and community-based projects. Some programmes are open-access, while others are delivered in partnership with schools, health services and community organisations, including CYPMHS/CAMHS-related provision.

Our approach is trauma-aware, inclusive and strengths-based. Time outdoors is used deliberately to help people feel safe, grounded and connected — to themselves, to others and to place. Sessions focus on participation, gentle challenge, developing confidence and capability, and creating positive experiences of belonging, rather than clinical treatment.

Grow Wellbeing works particularly with people who face barriers to wellbeing or access to green space. Across all our programmes, we aim to support improved emotional wellbeing, stronger relationships, growing confidence and skills, and a lasting connection to nature that people can carry into everyday life.
