Description

A friendly baby and toddler group with infant feeding support from trained peer supporters (we can support breastfeeding, combination feeding, bottle feeding, starting solids, stopping breastfeeding).

You are welcome to bring your baby, toddlers or older children and partners/supporters are welcomed.

On the first Wednesday of each month, we are joined by the Halesowen Health Visiting for additional support and weighing.

How to find us within the leisure centre: https://youtu.be/OYY0qCdG1BU

Halesowen Leisure Centre is a fully accessible venue with a car park and soft play on site. There are toilets and baby changing facilities available as well as kitchen access.

You can drop in at any time, but do bear in mind that we need to leave the room by the session end time to ensure it is clean and tidy for the next users. If for some reason you are not able to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so someone else is able to access a space.

FAQ:

Is it free?

Yes! Our infant feeding support groups are ALWAYS free.

Can I bring my baby?

Yes! You can bring your baby, older children, supporter, friend or partner.

How are the peer supporters trained?

Our fully trained infant feeding peer supporters are trained by an IBCLC for 12 weeks. They learn about breastfeeding, bottle feeding and weaning as well as mental health and counselling skills. They regularly attend update training and supervision. They are also lovely, friendly parents like you!

Can I come if I don't breastfeed?

Yes! This is an infant feeding support group so we support any person feeding a baby in any way. This might be breastfeeding, combination feeding, formula feeding, expressed feeding or weaning and introducing solids. We are here for you every step of the way!

Can I come if I don't need feeding support?

Yes! We'll always prioritise having space for those in need of support, but there is plenty of space! Many of our parents and carers come for a chat, a cuppa and general perinatal support too. It's so important to have a strong support system around you and we are part of that. You are not alone!

Is there a private space?

We have a screened off area if you need privacy for any reason.
