Visit the The Grange Project, Monmouth

We'll be visiting this amazing re-wilding project in Monmouthshire to see how they have developed this farm for nature and wildlife. There will be an introductory talk followed by a one hour tour of the site. Then we'll be doing some re-wilding of our own - either digging a pond, clearing some path clearing and brash pile making.

You will be joined on this trip by Greening Maindee volunteers.

About the site: It is a hilly uneven site.

The management of the land is currently divided between Young wilders (a youth non-profit encouraging more 18-30 year olds into nature recovery) and a community of volunteers. Since 2023, they have been planting, disturbing, digging and scattering - alongside two very busy pigs.

What to expect:

Lunch is provided.

Pick up: 9am at Maindee Library - 79 Chepstow Road. Newport NP19 8BY. Option to pick up from Abergavenny train station if travelling from Swansea.

Return: 5pm to Maindee Library

What to wear: Rugged trainers or boots, waterproof clothing.
