The People's Recovery Project

The People's Recovery Project is dedicated to making recovery achievable and sustainable for individuals facing homelessness and addiction. We focus on providing access to high-quality residential detox and rehab centers, as well as offering peer-led support throughout the treatment and recovery journey. Our community is driven by the shared purpose of making recovery opportunities more accessible, and we are committed to delivering early intervention peer recovery groups, specialist curation and coordination of pathways into residential treatment, and supportive relationships that endure throughout an individual’s journey. We also recognize the importance of aftercare and provide ongoing support to individuals following residential treatment for as long as they need it. Our approach values wellbeing and aims to create an environment for individuals to build connection, purpose, and belonging, supporting sustained recovery through mutual aid, community activities, and campaigns.

The intersection of homelessness and addiction presents significant challenges, and our organization is committed to addressing these issues holistically. We recognize that problematic drug use can both cause and be caused by street homelessness, and without solutions that seek to resolve concurrent intersecting needs, it can be difficult to effectively address either issue. By investing in individual's recovery, we not only benefit the individuals themselves but also contribute to cost savings for the state and unblock accommodation pathways. Our work is essential in addressing the needs of individuals experiencing harm from concurrent homelessness and street drug use, and we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.
