Thank you so much for booking onto an Easter Forest session with us! These are drop-off sessions (for children aged 5 and above) – there is no need to stay with your child. However, you are welcome to stay if you want to, or if your child would like you to! (Children under 5 years old will need an adult to stay). If your child has additional needs, or a 1-to-1 at school, please do contact us so we can discuss their needs. The sessions take place at Howden Junior School, Howden, DN14 7SL. There is a limited amount of car parking on the school site (but In The Canopy and Howden Junior School can’t take any responsibility for your vehicle or belongings when on the site). There is zoned time-limited street parking nearby and several council operated car parks in the town centre. The sessions take place entirely outside, whatever the weather, so it's really important to make sure you dress appropriately. Please bring several layers, and a warm coat and sturdy shoes if it’s wet, and a sun hat if it’s hot! Some activities involve mud, water and clay, so children should wear clothes that they can get messy in. As part of the session, children will help to prepare food, which will then be cooked on a fire and served up for lunch. Children are also welcome to bring their own food (but no nuts please) and will need a named, refillable water bottle. We understand that sometimes things change, so if you can't make your session for any reason, please use the booking system to cancel your place, or let us know. We are In The Canopy! Join us for an outdoor bushcraft session, where we provide a fun and engaging introduction to the outdoor environment. Through achievable tasks and activities, participants develop their range of physical, social and emotional skills, resulting in a positive impact on communication, motivation, health and wellbeing. Learn a new skill, challenge yourself, take managed risks, have an adventure! Children under the age of 5 will need a parent/carer to stay with them. Please let us know if your child requires 1-to-1 support in school so we can discuss their needs with you. For anyone else, a parent/carer is welcome to stay if you want to! Welcome to the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) website. Here you’ll be able to view, book and find out lots of information about the fun opportunities that are available in the Easter, summer and Christmas holidays for children and young people aged 5-16 years. <h2>Who is the programme for?</h2>Funded places on creative and active programmes are available to children and young people who receive benefit related free school meals and attend an East Riding school. There are also a limited number of places available to children and young people who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) commissioned by East Riding of Yorkshire Council. We would like as many families getting involved in HAF, and due to the demand for places, children and young people are able to attend 4 HAF activities for free at Easter, 16 sessions throughout the summer holidays and a further 4 activities at Christmas, with places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Most sessions are 4 hours long and a meal is included at each session. Be a part of HAF and enjoy making memories.
