Young Archaeologists Club Summer School
Tuesdays: we will be working with different tools to excavate a trench as part of the Jarrow Archaeological Mission, using trowels, spades, wheelbarrows and other tools. We will learn about onsite documentation such as photography, drawing, measuring.
Wednesdays: we will be working on all aspects of post-excavation activities, including: object washing, cataloguing, identification, archiving, research. We will learn how to use a microscope to look at small details. We will learn how to float soil, looking for small artefacts and seeds and other organic material.
