The aim of the course is to explore ways to document our surroundings, experimenting and experiencing a wide range of techniques to achieve exciting, expressive and dynamic outcomes. This workshop is suitable for all skill levels.


I have a limited supply of pencils, acrylic paint, ink, watercolours so you don’t need to buy anything especially. However you may have your own materials that you would like to bring. Useful materials to bring:-

• Drawing materials- Biro, fine liner, pencil, coloured pencils, oil pastels, acrylic pens

• Pritt Stick

• Old glossy magazines

• Brushes

• Geli Print Plate if you have one

• Acrylic paint, but only if you have it.

• Black Quink Ink (I do have some so don’t buy especially)

• Painting tools –range of sizes and shapes (flat, round), I use rigger brushes for lines. Decorators brushes, toothbrush ( I have a small supply so don’t worry if you haven’t got them)

• It could be messy so appropriate clothing.


A little about me - I am a retired teacher/Head of Art of 31 years and practicing artist. I am a painter and I focus on landscape. I am interested in capturing the energy and atmosphere of a place. I do this through expressive mark making, colour and choice of composition. As a teacher I am experienced in using a wide range methods and techniques to aid the creative process.
