Come along and join Selsey RNLI for their second 'Seal Dip’ and raise money by braving a quick sea dip in waters that average 11°C in May.
The event, which will take place on Sunday 3 May, is part of a month of activities to support the RNLI. Hosted at East Beach Green, the event will start from 9am, with the first participants set to take the plunge from 10am.
Each participant can enter for £5 and they will be encouraged to raise sponsorship from friends and family – register as a fundraiser on Just Giving to get your own personal page to track your fundraising on!
Fancy dress is optional but encouraged and keen space film fans will notice this is taking place on a special date in the calendar the following day!
After their dip, participants will receive a hot drink.
Operations permitting there will also be a sail past of Selsey Station’s Shannon and D-Class lifeboats.
Full safety measures will be in place which include Safety Boat and medical facilities on site.
This event is open to both adults and children over the age of 12. Younger children are welcome to attend but cannot take part in the dip. All children (under 18) will need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
All participants are asked to arrive for sign in at the registration tent on East Beach Green between 9 and 9.30am where they will be given a wristband. This wristband must be worn at all times and scanned before and after the dip.
Parking is available at East Beach public car park and the green is a 5-minute walk from the nearest bus stop located as East Beach shops.
