These weekly workshops at Whitechapel Gallery are a relaxed, open space to spend time making things together, trying out ideas, and exploring creativity in different forms.
Each session brings together a mix of creative practices such as drawing, creative writing, spoken word, music, collage, filmmaking, and forms of curation. You’re welcome to move between activities, focus on one thing, or just take time to observe and be part of the space. No previous experience is needed, the workshops are designed to be accessible, flexible, and led by what feels right on the day.
From time to time, guest artists and practitioners will join the sessions to share their work or lead a workshop, offering new ways of thinking and making while keeping things informal and collaborative.
The workshops are hosted by Alesh Compton, a London-based filmmaker and artist, and are shaped around care, curiosity, and shared participation rather than finished outcomes.
