Description

Programme Overview

Children will take part in a two-week programme offering a balanced mix of creative, physical, and outdoor activities.

Each day is self-contained, meaning children can attend for one day, several days, or the full programme without missing out.

While there may be a loose creative theme across the two weeks, all activities are designed so children can drop in and out easily, with no requirement to attend every day.

Studio-Based Activities

Time in the studio is inspired by playful, non-competitive, mindful movement.

Activities may include:

  • Yoga-based games and movement activities
  • Mindfulness and emotional regulation activities
  • Creative workshops and crafting projects
  • Gentle yoga and yoga-adjacent movement suitable for all abilities

Sessions are designed to help children:

  • Explore how their bodies move through play
  • Build body awareness and confidence without pressure
  • Work together to problem-solve and try new ideas
  • Learn simple strategies such as pausing, noticing, and resetting through games

Children are encouraged to participate at their own pace, with options for quieter or lower-energy engagement when needed.

Community & Outdoor Activities

Alongside studio time, children will take part in supervised community-based activities, which may include:

  • Local planting and environmental projects
  • Canal clean-ups with the Canal & River Trust
  • Canoeing and water-based activities with local providers such as Moo Canoes (example)
  • Visits to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, including orienteering, exploration, and adventure playground sessions

Activities vary day to day, offering a wide range of physical activity, teamwork, and connection to the local area.

Food & Meals

Healthy free meals will be provided daily.

  • Catering supplied by Boulevard Events, a local award-winning caterer based on Tredegar Road
  • Meals are Natasha’s Law compliant
  • Dietary requirements and cultural needs are fully respected

Food provision is designed to be inclusive, nourishing, and appropriate for all children attending.

Inclusion & Accessibility

This programme is designed to be inclusive and accessible.

  • Children with additional needs are welcome
  • Activities are adaptable and non-competitive
  • Participation may be active, seated, supported, or observational
  • Mobility aids, including wheelchairs, are fully welcomed
  • Rest and opting out are always valid

Where children usually attend school with additional adult support (such as a teaching assistant), families and schools can discuss whether this support is available during the holiday period. This will be considered on a child-to-child basis.

End-of-Day Wind Down

Each day includes a supported wind-down period before pick-up, helping children transition calmly and leave feeling settled and supported.
