Get ready to discover the newest innovations and technological breakthroughs at the TURBO METH Innovation Showcase.

Join us at Shoreham Port for the public showcase of PuriFire Energy’s hydrothermal gasification technology and HyperGen’s Microturbine, as part of Innovate UK’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC6), funded by the Department for Transport.

This event is a first joint presentation of PuriFire’s prototype system and HyperGen’s multi-fuel micro gas turbine technology in a live port setting. Both technologies have received support from Innovate UK’s Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition (CMDC6), which promotes innovative solutions to lower emissions in the maritime industry.

The collaboration aims to demonstrate how circular fuels and distributed power systems can be integrated into port infrastructure to accelerate maritime decarbonisation.

PuriFire’s hydrothermal gasification process converts wastewater and waste carbon into green hydrogen and bio-methanol, offering a decentralised, lower-carbon alternative to fossil-derived methanol. HyperGen’s turbine systems provide flexible, efficient power generation that can operate on cleaner fuel pathways.

At the event, attendees will see a static display of the technologies, hear directly from the engineers and consortium partners, and explore how this Government-backed innovation could support ports, ship operators, and policymakers in building a cleaner maritime future.

Delivered alongside Newcastle University, X-Press Feeders, The Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, and Associated British Ports, the project represents a significant step toward moving sustainable fuel production from lab validation to real-world deployment.

We look forward to welcoming you to Shoreham Port to see the technology up close and discuss what comes next - everyone welcome!
