Description

Summary

Dive into a textile workshop adventure where you’ll dye, print, quilt, and sew your own creations inspired by plants, ecology, and biodiversity. Design and carve your own lino prints to make unique fabrics, then turn them into a quilted Japanese-style gile (waistcoat) you can actually wear. This is a hands-on, creative experience perfect for young people interested in art, fashion and textiles.

This project is being led by Katharine Gorham, a professional artist from Cockpit Arts, who creates bold fabric prints inspired by plants and nature, using hand-printing techniques, natural materials, and colour. Her work explores how shapes, textures, and patterns from nature can be transformed into exciting designs, while raising awareness about protecting the environment.
