We're looking for volunteers to help out in our wood recycling yard based in Newport. If you're interested in helping the environment by saving wood from landfill and enjoy physical work, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Activities include:

• Unloading collection vans
• Sorting/grading wood
• Stripping pallets
• De-nailing wood
• Organising wood store areas
• Going out on collections to various sites in South Wales
• Various other activities - there's something for everyone!

You’ll have the chance to enjoy some fresh air, meet new people and learn a bit about wood while helping prepare our reclaimed wood for resale or for building bespoke commissions. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, you’re welcome any time during the week 9am – 2pm. This is a regular, ongoing opportunity so you can give as much or as little time as you like.

You don't need any prior experience, and we provide all PPE and training required. We look forward to hearing from you!

Booking onto this opportunity through Plinth books you onto an induction spot, where you can meet us, have a tour of the yard and workshop, and see if the opportunity is suitable for you. You can choose to stay on for a trial day if you wish, or come back again to start!
