Tower Hamlets Council For Voluntary Service

Tower Hamlets CVS is dedicated to supporting the voluntary and community sector in Tower Hamlets. We provide funding opportunities, resources, and job vacancies to help local organisations thrive and make a positive impact in our community. Through our Neighbourhood Forum, Cornerstone, and Tower Hamlets Connection Network, we facilitate collaboration and networking among VCS organizations, enabling them to access support, share knowledge, and work together to address local challenges.

Our efforts have resulted in increased access to funding, resources, and job opportunities for VCS organisations in Tower Hamlets. We have also fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration, leading to impactful initiatives and projects that address the diverse needs of our local residents. Through our work, we aim to strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of VCS organizations, ultimately contributing to the well-being and resilience of the community we serve.

Join this quarter’s Health and Wellbeing forum on the Integrated Neighbourhood Teams on Thursday 26th February 2026 at The Brady Centre to find out what has been happening and how you and your organisation can get involved. Since the last forum, where we discussed the NHS 10-year plan and the focus on neighbourhood working, newly formed NHS groups across the four localities in the borough have begun reviewing health data and developing plans for the pilot integrated projects. At the forum, you will have the opportunity to learn more about this work, including how residents and the VCS will be involved in decision making, what defines a neighbourhood area, what is currently happening in each area, how service mapping will support understanding of referral pathways, how the sector can collaborate to support the approach, and how potential funding sources can be explored. Do you want to make content creation easier and share your work in a way that feels authentic? We’ll cover beginner‑friendly skills for Instagram, LinkedIn and X, including:<ul><li>building a confident, consistent online presence,</li><li>techniques and tools, including AI and Canva, to help you do more because we understand that you struggle with time and money,</li><li>boosting engagement and connecting more naturally with your audience.</li></ul> This session is designed for local community groups or organisations who have set up their social media accounts but struggle with what to post, how often they should be showing up online, and how to make the most of their digital footprint. It’s led by writer and creative entrepreneur Miranda Siow. She volunteers with several organisations. Through this experience, she has seen the valuable work done by the third sector and their importance to our communities. Instagram is her favourite platform. It’s where posting feels more like catching up with friends than broadcasting to strangers. She has also grown her presence on TikTok and YouTube, with videos reaching thousands of viewers, and her content has even caught the attention of the BBC. She also runs creative writing classes and facilitates Happiness Habits workshops with Action for Happiness. Her work is grounded in empathy, positivity, and a belief that technological skills should be accessible to everyone.
