Tower Hamlets CVS is dedicated to supporting the voluntary and community sector in Tower Hamlets. We provide funding opportunities, resources, and job vacancies to help local organisations thrive and make a positive impact in our community. Through our Neighbourhood Forum, Cornerstone, and Tower Hamlets Connection Network, we facilitate collaboration and networking among VCS organizations, enabling them to access support, share knowledge, and work together to address local challenges.

Our efforts have resulted in increased access to funding, resources, and job opportunities for VCS organisations in Tower Hamlets. We have also fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration, leading to impactful initiatives and projects that address the diverse needs of our local residents. Through our work, we aim to strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of VCS organizations, ultimately contributing to the well-being and resilience of the community we serve.

This Level 1 Safeguarding training provides an introduction to safeguarding children and your responsibilities when working with children and young people. Date: Tuesday 21st April 2026Time: 10:30am – 1:00pmLocation: Osmani Centre, 58 Underwood Rd, London E1 5AW. Delivered by Rajna Choudhury (Interfaith coordinator) and Victoria Burton (Tower Hamlets Safeguarding team). Tower Hamlets CVS is exploring the creation of a Women’s Health Alliance, bringing together voluntary and community organisations that work with women across the borough. The alliance aims to strengthen collaboration between community organisations, health partners and researchers to improve women’s health outcomes. Date: 23rd April 2026Time: 10:00am - 11:30amLocation: Teams This initial session will provide an opportunity to explore how organisations can work together to influence approaches to information sharing, community engagement, education and health interventions across primary and secondary care. It will also help identify key priorities for women’s health in Tower Hamlets and consider how a coordinated alliance could support system change and better access to services. The session is open to organisations working with women or supporting women’s health and wellbeing in Tower Hamlets. Domestic Abuse Awareness training Date: Tuesday 12th May 2026Time: 11:00am - 1:30pmLocation: Brady Arts &amp; Community Centre, 192-196, Hanbury St, London E1 5HU Join us for a domestic abuse awareness session delivered by Sayeeda Ashraf (Shewise) and Kamilla Ovrevik (London Sport). Domestic abuse can affect anyone. This session will help participants better understand what domestic abuse is, how to recognise when someone may be experiencing harm, and how to respond appropriately to concerns or disclosures. The training will also explore the impact of domestic abuse, including the effects of exposure on children and young people.The session will include guidance on recognising how domestic abuse may present within sport and physical activity settings, and where to signpost individuals for support. In this session you will learn:<ul><li>What domestic abuse is</li><li>How to recognise signs that someone may be experiencing domestic abuse</li><li>How domestic abuse may present in sport and physical activity environments</li><li>The impact of domestic abuse, including exposure for children and young people</li><li>How to respond to concerns or disclosures safely and appropriately</li><li>Where to seek further support and resources</li></ul> This training is suitable for anyone working or volunteering in sports clubs, community organisations, or physical activity settings. This fun and engaging workshop is aimed at newly established community groups or small organisations who want to learn more about impact measurement, monitoring and evaluation. The workshop will cover:<ul><li>Impact and terminology. </li><li>Project planning and embedding monitoring.</li><li>Monitoring processes and tools.</li><li>Data collection frameworks.</li><li>Reporting and communicating impact.</li><li>Simple theory of change.</li></ul> The main objective of this workshop is to build on your existing experience, knowledge and expertise. It will take what you do and allow you to re-examine this from an external point of view. This will enable you to look at your organisations from a slightly different perspective, and allow you the space to think about how you record your work, recognise its impact and how you communicate this. Spaces are limited to 10 groups, offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Only one booking per group is needed, so please book early to avoid missing out.

UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop Date: Tuesday 2nd June 2026Time: 11:00am - 2:00pmLocation: Brady Arts &amp; Community Centre, 192-196, Hanbury St, London E1 5HU Join us for an interactive Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop, delivered by Kamilla Ovrevik (London Sport) in partnership with UK Coaching. This session will support participants to better understand how to safeguard children and young people in sport and physical activity settings. It will explore what good coaching practice looks like, how to recognise safeguarding concerns, and how to respond appropriately to ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people. Through practical examples, group discussions and interactive scenarios, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on real-life situations, share experiences, and build confidence in responding to safeguarding concerns.
