Tower Hamlets CVS is dedicated to supporting the voluntary and community sector in Tower Hamlets. We provide funding opportunities, resources, and job vacancies to help local organisations thrive and make a positive impact in our community. Through our Neighbourhood Forum, Cornerstone, and Tower Hamlets Connection Network, we facilitate collaboration and networking among VCS organizations, enabling them to access support, share knowledge, and work together to address local challenges.

Our efforts have resulted in increased access to funding, resources, and job opportunities for VCS organisations in Tower Hamlets. We have also fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration, leading to impactful initiatives and projects that address the diverse needs of our local residents. Through our work, we aim to strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of VCS organizations, ultimately contributing to the well-being and resilience of the community we serve.

Do you want to make content creation easier and share your work in a way that feels authentic? We’ll cover beginner‑friendly skills for Instagram, LinkedIn and X, including:<ul><li>building a confident, consistent online presence,</li><li>techniques and tools, including AI and Canva, to help you do more because we understand that you struggle with time and money,</li><li>boosting engagement and connecting more naturally with your audience.</li></ul> This session is designed for local community groups or organisations who have set up their social media accounts but struggle with what to post, how often they should be showing up online, and how to make the most of their digital footprint. It’s led by writer and creative entrepreneur Miranda Siow. She volunteers with several organisations. Through this experience, she has seen the valuable work done by the third sector and their importance to our communities. Instagram is her favourite platform. It’s where posting feels more like catching up with friends than broadcasting to strangers. She has also grown her presence on TikTok and YouTube, with videos reaching thousands of viewers, and her content has even caught the attention of the BBC. She also runs creative writing classes and facilitates Happiness Habits workshops with Action for Happiness. Her work is grounded in empathy, positivity, and a belief that technological skills should be accessible to everyone. Have you ever thought about setting up a CIC or community group, but weren’t quite sure where to begin? Join us for this short workshop that has a focus on what really matters:<ul><li>What structure is right for your idea?</li><li>What does governance actually mean in real life?</li><li>Who should be on your board (and why)?</li><li>How do you set things up in a way that won’t cause problems later?</li></ul>Whether you’re just starting out, thinking about formalising your project, or already running something casually, this session will give you space to ask questions, share experiences, and learn with others in the same position. We’ll keep it practical, honest and interactive, with time for discussion and real-life examples.The workshop came about after conversations with local project leads and was organised in response to their request for support.No prior knowledge needed. Just bring your ideas and your questions.Maximum 10 groups due to capacity, first come first served.

Children and Young People - Introduction to Safeguarding Training 

Domestic Abuse Awareness training Date: Tuesday 12th May 2026Time: 11:00am - 1:30pmLocation: Brady Arts &amp; Community Centre, 192-196, Hanbury St, London E1 5HU Join us for a domestic abuse awareness session delivered by Sayeeda Ashraf (Shewise) and Kamilla Ovrevik (London Sport). Domestic abuse can affect anyone. This session will help participants better understand what domestic abuse is, how to recognise when someone may be experiencing harm, and how to respond appropriately to concerns or disclosures. The training will also explore the impact of domestic abuse, including the effects of exposure on children and young people.The session will include guidance on recognising how domestic abuse may present within sport and physical activity settings, and where to signpost individuals for support. In this session you will learn:<ul><li>What domestic abuse is</li><li>How to recognise signs that someone may be experiencing domestic abuse</li><li>How domestic abuse may present in sport and physical activity environments</li><li>The impact of domestic abuse, including exposure for children and young people</li><li>How to respond to concerns or disclosures safely and appropriately</li><li>Where to seek further support and resources</li></ul> This training is suitable for anyone working or volunteering in sports clubs, community organisations, or physical activity settings. Children and Young People - Domestic abuse training

UK Coaching Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop Date: Tuesday 2nd June 2026Time: 11:00am - 2:00pmLocation: TBC Join us for an interactive Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop, delivered by Kamilla Ovrevik (London Sport) in partnership with UK Coaching. This session will support participants to better understand how to safeguard children and young people in sport and physical activity settings. It will explore what good coaching practice looks like, how to recognise safeguarding concerns, and how to respond appropriately to ensure the safety and wellbeing of young people. Through practical examples, group discussions and interactive scenarios, participants will have the opportunity to reflect on real-life situations, share experiences, and build confidence in responding to safeguarding concerns. In this session you will learn:<ul><li>How to safeguard children and young people effectively</li><li>What good coaching practice looks like and how to apply it</li><li>How to recognise signs of abuse, lower-level concerns and poor practice</li><li>How to respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns</li><li>How and where to report concerns about children and young people</li></ul> Who should attend:This session is suitable for sports coaches, club leaders, committee members, welfare officers, fitness providers, safeguarding leads, and anyone working with children and young people in sport or physical activity settings.Delivered in partnership with UK Coaching, this workshop also provides 2 CIMSPA CPD points (valid for 12 months).
