Tower Hamlets CVS is dedicated to supporting the voluntary and community sector in Tower Hamlets. We provide funding opportunities, resources, and job vacancies to help local organisations thrive and make a positive impact in our community. Through our Neighbourhood Forum, Cornerstone, and Tower Hamlets Connection Network, we facilitate collaboration and networking among VCS organizations, enabling them to access support, share knowledge, and work together to address local challenges.

Our efforts have resulted in increased access to funding, resources, and job opportunities for VCS organizations in Tower Hamlets. We have also fostered a strong sense of community and collaboration, leading to impactful initiatives and projects that address the diverse needs of our local residents. Through our work, we aim to strengthen the capacity and effectiveness of VCS organizations, ultimately contributing to the well-being and resilience of the community we serve.

About the Tower Hamlets Cornerstone ProjectThe Tower Hamlets Cornerstone Project is a partnership between Tower Hamlets Council for Voluntary Service (THCVS) – the infrastructure organisation supporting the voluntary sector in London Borough of Tower Hamlets and six community groups and organisations. This two year project, funded by The National Lottery, developed an approach to influence more inclusive decision-making across public sector agencies in Tower Hamlets. The project created a model for voluntary sector partnership for public sector bodies wanting to work with local communities to address inequalities within policy making services in Tower Hamlets. Our continuing goal is to ensure that all residents benefit from improved planning and decision-making that better reflects the experiences and needs of disadvantaged and marginalised communities across London.

Ripple Effect MappingRipple Effect Mapping (REM) is a participatory evaluation process that explores the wider impact (ripples) of a planned intervention or change. In traditional evaluation, we often explore whether we did or didn’t achieve the desired outcomes, and these are often linked to quantitative data. REM is more closely related to a qualitative approach that captures the ‘unintended’ consequences of an intervention and which decisions or changes, had the most or least impact on an outcome. It allows us to see connections between our work and capture the ‘ripples’, which may have developed much wider than our original intended consequence.The REM process can include a wide range of voices, making it more likely that we get a more holistic picture of the impact, and telling a rich story about what has happened for all the people involved.REM helps you explore the bits of a journey you may not find out about in more traditional evaluation and shape decisions about what to do more, or less, of, in the future.The session will cover:<ul><li>An introduction to the principles that underpin co-evaluation and involvement with the community</li><li>Consider how you ‘close the loop’ and feed information back to the community</li><li>Reflect on traditional evaluation and the opportunities that REM offers</li><li>An outline of the REM process</li><li>Consider how you can use and analyse the data you capture</li></ul>&nbsp;
