Join us for this month’s Networking Forum, where we will take some time to pause, reflect, and focus on our own wellbeing as we navigate the ongoing demands of our work with young people. As frontline workers, you spend so much of your time supporting the mental health and wellbeing of young people. This forum is an opportunity to take a moment for yourselves and make sure your own wellbeing is looked after too. Location: Kindred Studios, The Gramophone Works, Kensal Road, W10 5BZTime: 11am – 1pmDate: Tuesday 28th April 2026 In this networking event, you will take part in a short workshop with Hattie Edmonds, who will share with you strategies to reduce stress and anxiety. The session includes information on how closely our heart health is connected to our mental health and how, constantly living in our heads causes anxiety and stress. We will become aware how anxiety affects our body (tight shoulders, clenched stomach and jaw etc). Hattie will share easy self-care techniques to bring us into the present moment, through deep breathing and feeling our heart beat. This helps to calm our nervous system, bringing our emotions into balance, helping us to make better decisions and giving us a more positive outlook. We will find and embed an easily accessible resource - a memory or experience where we felt completely relaxed and calm, which we can draw on in times of stress. About the Facilitator: Hattie EdmondsHattie was the first in-house writer for Comic Relief and has since published two novels. She has just completed a book about the heart, in which she interviews doctors, cardiologists, scientists and mindfulness/meditation teachers on the best ways to keep our hearts healthy, physically, mentally and emotionally. She has run 'Writing for Wellbeing' sessions in schools, colleges, mental health inpatient units and for Meanwhile Gardens. For 7 years she volunteered, guiding weekly relaxation sessions at the Pembridge Palliative Care unit of St Charles’s hospital.Alongside the workshop, there will be plenty of time to connect with fellow youth workers, share ideas, and reflect on your experiences. The forum is designed to be relaxed and supportive, giving everyone the opportunity to learn from one another. Please feel free to bring along any resources, flyers, or literature you would like to share with fellow members — and come ready to walk in and float out! We look forward to seeing you there.

We’re pleased to offer this 2-day Paediatric First Aid course, delivered in partnership with Equans — a fantastic opportunity for staff working with children and young people to gain essential, life-saving skills and a recognised qualification. This classroom-based training will equip you with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to respond effectively to a range of emergency situations involving infants and children. Whether in your sessions, programmes, or day-to-day practice, this training ensures you are prepared to act quickly and safely when it matters most. Across the two days, you will cover key areas including:<ul><li>Responding to unresponsive infants and children</li><li>CPR and use of AED</li><li>Managing choking incidents</li><li>Treating injuries such as burns, fractures, and bleeding</li><li>Understanding your responsibilities as a first aider</li></ul> Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Paediatric First Aid qualification, supporting safer practice across your organisation.
