Young K&C is a dynamic cross-sector partnership, creating a community of member and partner organisations working together to support children and young people.

We want all children and young people in Kensington and Chelsea to have access to inspiring, local opportunities to help them pursue their ambitions and be part of their community.

The Paediatric First Aid course&nbsp;is a 2-day classroom-based training, designed to teach essential skills for managing child-related emergencies. As part of this training, you will be equipped and qualified in delivering paediatric first aid in your sessions. To qualify, attendance is required at both sessions. A maximum number of 2 staff per organisation can attend. A light lunch will be provided. Delivered in partnership with <a href="https://www.equans.co.uk/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Equans</a>

SPID Theatre

Join us for a 2-day focused workshop designed to help Young K&amp;C members providers create safe and enjoyable inclusive spaces for SEND young people. Led by WECIL, bringing lived-experience and expertise in inclusion, you’ll learning:<ul><li>Practical tools for including children and young people with SEND</li><li>Hear from people with lived experience about how to foster accessible communication</li><li>Embedding co-production principles in your work.</li></ul> This session is part of a wider initiative to build sustainable, inclusive practice across mainstream VCS settings. Organisations keen to continue this piece of work will be invited to join tailored workplans on including young people with SEND. A light lunch will be provided. A maximum of 2 people per organisation can attend. Delivered by <a href="https://wecil.org.uk/children-young-people/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">WECIL</a>, part of an ongoing series funded by the Julia Rausings Trust

30 hours · 10 x 3hr sessions · Max 20 students · In partnership with the Open University About the course This interactive course, inspired by the Early Childhood Health Promotion Toolkit developed by Dr Jackie Musgrave (Open University) and Dr Jane Payler, explores how practitioners can support children’s health and wellbeing in meaningful and sustainable ways. Across 10 sessions, you’ll gain core knowledge of children’s health, work with parents and communities, and design your own health promotion intervention using structured models and practical activities. With guest speakers, group work, and reflective journaling, the course balances theory with hands-on practice. People who complete the course will receive a Level 3 Qualification in Early Childhood Health Promotion from the Open University Taught by: Dr Lala Manners and Claire Standring. Outcomes By the end of the course, you will:<ul><li>Understand the priorities of health promotion nationally and locally</li><li>Identify the main issues affecting children’s health</li><li>Develop and implement a tailored health intervention</li><li>Evaluate its impact and sustainability</li><li>Reflect on your professional practice</li></ul> Who can attend This course is open to anyone working with primary-aged children. Including but not limited to working in a voluntary and community setting, statutory service, informal group or schools.
