Young Hammersmith & Fulham (Young H&F) is a charity working to support voluntary youth organisations to thrive and deliver the best support for young people.

We believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, and that starts with a strong, well-supported youth sector. So that’s our goal - to strengthen the youth sector in Hammersmith & Fulham by supporting the charities, organisations, and professionals who work directly with young people. 

We do this by: 

Building capacity through training, networks and shared learning
Young H&F provides opportunities for learning, upskilling and knowledge-sharing to help non-profit youth organisations to deliver the best support for young people, whilst also creating spaces for collaboration across our community.

Giving our community membership access to vital  funding 
We are pleased to provide community members access to the funding they need to create meaningful opportunities for young people through small grants.
 
Embedding youth voice into decision-making
We always strive to make sure that young people play a central role in shaping our work - from allocating funding as Young Grant Makers to facilitating peer research projects.

Driving Sector Development through Research and Partnerships
Young H&F strengthens the youth sector by identifying gaps and facilitating collaborative projects. Through research, pilot initiatives and cross-sector partnerships, we aim to strengthen the youth sector and help create more joined-up support for young people in Hammersmith & Fulham.

<h1>Using AI Safely and Effectively</h1><h2>Practical AI training for youth organisations</h2> AI is already being used across the voluntary sector - often quietly, informally, and sometimes without clear boundaries. For organisations working with young people, the stakes are higher - safeguarding, data protection, authenticity and trust cannot be afterthought. This session is designed specifically for youth organisations who want to understand and use AI properly, not just experiment with it. This practical training will help you move from uncertainty (or panic Googling) to confident, ethical and effective use. Led by <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/in/alreid1/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Non-Profit Generative AI expert, Alex Reid</a>, this training will explore:<ul><li>What generative AI is (and what it isn’t)</li><li>How to write clearer prompts that improve outputs</li><li>What should never be entered into AI tools</li><li>How to maintain your organisation’s voice and integrity</li><li>How to develop a simple AI policy and internal guardrails for responsible use</li></ul><h2> </h2>This session, valued over £20 per person, is completely free to Young H&amp;F's voluntary sector members. <h1>Digital Inclusion Training</h1> <h2>Led by Alex Reid,&nbsp;This&nbsp;training session will introduce voluntary sector organisations to the fundamentals of digital accessibility and inclusive online design. </h2> This session will focus on realistic improvements that small organisations can implement without needing specialist technical&nbsp;expertise. The session combines short presentations with practical exercises, including reviewing example webpages, conducting a mini accessibility audit, and developing a simple action plan. Full agenda:&nbsp;1. Welcome and Introduction Setting the scene around digital inclusion, why accessibility matters, and common barriers people face online.&nbsp; 2. Accessibility Basics &nbsp;Overview of different accessibility needs (screen readers, low vision, cognitive load, etc.) and&nbsp;simple design&nbsp;considerations such as font choices,&nbsp;navigation&nbsp;and plain English.&nbsp;&nbsp;Exercise:&nbsp;Webpage review3. Making Websites Easier to Use &nbsp;Practical guidance on inclusive layouts, headings,&nbsp;navigation&nbsp;and mobile accessibility — focused on what to look for rather than technical builds.&nbsp;&nbsp;Exercise:&nbsp;Guided “mini audit” 4.
