Young Hammersmith And Fulham

Young Hammersmith & Fulham (Young H&F) is a charity working to support voluntary youth organisations to thrive and deliver the best support for young people.

We believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, and that starts with a strong, well-supported youth sector. So that’s our goal - to strengthen the youth sector in Hammersmith & Fulham by supporting the charities, organisations, and professionals who work directly with young people. 

We do this by: 
- Providing free expert-led training to help organisations grow and sustain their impact. Previous trainings have included Deaf Awareness Training led by David Buxton, CEO of Action on Disability and Trauma-Informed Practice Training led by consultant Kati Taunt. 

- Facilitating spaces for discussion, networking & collaboration 
In addition to providing high-quality training, Young H&F also creates space for community members to share insights, connect and collaborate through various events, networks and forums.  
 
- Giving our community access to vital funding. In 2024 Young H&F we gave £25,000 to seven supplementary schools across Hammersmith & Fulham, supporting educational initiatives for students from underrepresented minority communities, including Somali, Arabic, and Polish backgrounds. We also provided £50,000 in small grants to small and medium sized non-profit youth organisations, helping them sustain and grow their work with young people.

Future Youth Worker Programme! Do you have young people aged 16+ who currently access your provision and are keen to step up and take on a peer support or leadership role within your organisation and would benefit from outside guided learning in a Level 1 Introduction to Youth Work Programme? Details:<ul><li>6 sessions x 3 hours (face to face delivery).</li><li>Participants will complete a unit workbook and portfolio as part of the programme.</li><li>Participants will be offered financial support to attend training sessions which will be awarded on successful completion of the programme.</li><li>Participants will need to be supported by a placement organisation who can support and encourage application of learning.</li><li>Teaching days will be Monday 16th, Wednesday 18th, and Friday 20th February 2026, which will be mandatory attendance. </li><li>Study days will take place on Tuesday 17th February and Thursday &nbsp;19th February 2026.</li><li>A deposit of £25 will be taken, which will be refunded upon completion of the course.</li></ul> Here's what participants can look forward to: <ul><li>Skill Development: Participants will complete a unit workbook and build a portfolio that will showcase their learning and growth throughout the program.</li><li>Financial Support: We’re committed to supporting our participants. That’s why we’re offering financial support to help with expenses. We’ll also refund deposit upon completion of the qualification.</li><li>Placement Support: Participants will need to be backed by an organisation that can help them apply their new skills in real-world settings, providing encouragement and practical experience.</li><li>Daily Sessions: Teaching sessions will run from 10 am to 5 pm each day, ensuring that participants receive comprehensive training.</li><li>Celebration of Success: The journey will conclude with a special celebration on Friday 1st November, to mark the achievements of our participants.</li></ul>
