Young Hammersmith And Fulham

Young Hammersmith & Fulham (Young H&F) is a charity working to support voluntary youth organisations to thrive and deliver the best support for young people.

We believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, and that starts with a strong, well-supported youth sector. So that’s our goal - to strengthen the youth sector in Hammersmith & Fulham by supporting the charities, organisations, and professionals who work directly with young people. 

We do this by: 
- Providing free expert-led training to help organisations grow and sustain their impact. Previous trainings have included Deaf Awareness Training led by David Buxton, CEO of Action on Disability and Trauma-Informed Practice Training led by consultant Kati Taunt. 

- Facilitating spaces for discussion, networking & collaboration 
In addition to providing high-quality training, Young H&F also creates space for community members to share insights, connect and collaborate through various events, networks and forums.  
 
- Giving our community access to vital funding. In 2024 Young H&F we gave £25,000 to seven supplementary schools across Hammersmith & Fulham, supporting educational initiatives for students from underrepresented minority communities, including Somali, Arabic, and Polish backgrounds. We also provided £50,000 in small grants to small and medium sized non-profit youth organisations, helping them sustain and grow their work with young people.

<h1>Join us for our Youth Voice Lab!</h1> <h2>The Youth Voice Lab brings together our young people and organisations from across Hammersmith &amp; Fulham to strengthen youth voice locally.</h2><h2> </h2>For Young H&amp;F's Youth Collective, it's an opportunity to talk about the issues important to young people, develop a youth voice strategy, and receive leadership training opportunities. For Young H&amp;F Community Members, it's chance to learn more about the importance of youth voice directly from young people, how to develop youth voice authentically within your organisation, and how to communicate your offer to young people effectively. Please note that this form is for Community member organisations only. The young people attending are part of the Young H&amp;F Collective.

<h1>This session is for managers and directors who want to strengthen their organisation’s relationship with the local authority.</h1> <h2>Led by Monsur Khan from Clear Positive Change, the session will draw on Monsur’s extensive experience working with councils.</h2> Monsur brings a deep understanding of how local authorities are structured, how decisions are made, and how organisations can navigate these systems effectively. Monsur now supports charities to use this insight to build constructive relationships and secure meaningful support from their local council. The session will explore practical ways to open the door to council engagement, who to approach and when, and how to build relationships aligned to your organisation’s goals. There will also be time to ask questions and share experiences of engaging with the local authority.

<h1>Join us for Trusted Youth Allies training!</h1> <h2>Young people who have experienced or witnessed a crime need someone they can turn to-someone they trust. Led by London Youth, this training is designed to help the adults in young people's lives feel confident and equipped to step into that role.</h2> What you will learn...<ul><li>How to create a safe, supportive spaces where young people feel heard-whether or not they choose to report an incident.</li><li>How to guide young people through personal and community challenges and advocate for their needs.</li><li>Approaches that build resilience, empowerment , and positive decision-making.</li><li>How to recognize and mange the impact of of this work on you, including vicarious trauma and emotional load.</li></ul>

Future Youth Worker Programme! Do you have young people aged 16+ who currently access your provision and are keen to step up and take on a peer support or leadership role within your organisation and would benefit from outside guided learning in a Level 1 Introduction to Youth Work Programme? Details:<ul><li>6 sessions x 3 hours (face to face delivery).</li><li>Participants will complete a unit workbook and portfolio as part of the programme.</li><li>Participants will be offered financial support to attend training sessions which will be awarded on successful completion of the programme.</li><li>Participants will need to be supported by a placement organisation who can support and encourage application of learning.</li><li>Teaching days will be Monday 16th, Wednesday 18th, and Friday 20th February 2026, which will be mandatory attendance. </li><li>Study days will take place on Tuesday 17th February and Thursday &nbsp;19th February 2026.</li><li>A deposit of £25 will be taken, which will be refunded upon completion of the course.</li></ul> Here's what participants can look forward to: <ul><li>Skill Development: Participants will complete a unit workbook and build a portfolio that will showcase their learning and growth throughout the program.</li><li>Financial Support: We’re committed to supporting our participants. That’s why we’re offering financial support to help with expenses. We’ll also refund deposit upon completion of the qualification.</li><li>Placement Support: Participants will need to be backed by an organisation that can help them apply their new skills in real-world settings, providing encouragement and practical experience.</li><li>Daily Sessions: Teaching sessions will run from 10 am to 5 pm each day, ensuring that participants receive comprehensive training.</li><li>Celebration of Success: The journey will conclude with a special celebration on Friday 1st November, to mark the achievements of our participants.</li></ul>
