Young Hammersmith & Fulham (Young H&F) is a charity working to support voluntary youth organisations to thrive and deliver the best support for young people.

We believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive, and that starts with a strong, well-supported youth sector. So that’s our goal - to strengthen the youth sector in Hammersmith & Fulham by supporting the charities, organisations, and professionals who work directly with young people. 

We do this by: 
- Providing free expert-led training to help organisations grow and sustain their impact. Previous trainings have included Deaf Awareness Training led by David Buxton, CEO of Action on Disability and Trauma-Informed Practice Training led by consultant Kati Taunt. 

- Facilitating spaces for discussion, networking & collaboration 
In addition to providing high-quality training, Young H&F also creates space for community members to share insights, connect and collaborate through various events, networks and forums.  
 
- Giving our community access to vital funding. In 2024 Young H&F we gave £25,000 to seven supplementary schools across Hammersmith & Fulham, supporting educational initiatives for students from underrepresented minority communities, including Somali, Arabic, and Polish backgrounds. We also provided £50,000 in small grants to small and medium sized non-profit youth organisations, helping them sustain and grow their work with young people.

<h1>Online Safety Training &amp; Forum</h1> In an increasingly digital world, equipping individuals who work with young people with online safety knowledge is more important than ever.&nbsp;Young Hammersmith &amp; Fulham is providing community members with a free specialist training from <a href="https://www.childnet.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Childnet</a> and a forum to discuss online safety issues. We recommend attending both the training and forum to get the most out of the event, however you are free to join for just one of the sessions. <ul><li>Training:&nbsp;10am - 12pm</li><li>Lunch provided by Young H&amp;F: 12pm - 1pm</li><li>Forum:&nbsp;1pm - 3pm</li></ul> <h2>What you can expect to learn about:</h2> <ul><li>The 4Cs of online safety -&nbsp;Content, Conduct, Contact, and Commerce</li><li>Online risks such as misinformation, cyberbullying, grooming, and financial scams&nbsp;</li><li>Strategies to engage young people, staff, and parents in online safety discussions</li><li>How to recognise and respond to harm</li><li>Safeguarding reminders, reporting concerns, and how to access support</li></ul> <h2>Youth Worker Forum</h2> In our forum, we will be expanding on the training a looking at the risk of online toxic masculinity to the young people we work with. With over 20 years of experience, Tender harnesses the power of drama and the arts to educate young people and professionals about healthy relationships. Our trainers hold Level 3 Domestic Abuse Training qualifications and use engaging, creative methods to deliver impactful sessions nationwide.
