Waythrough (LGBT+ Northeast)

Waythrough is dedicated to supporting young LGBT+ people aged 11-25 and their families in County Durham, Sunderland, and South Tyneside. Our practical and friendly services revolve around providing support for gender identity and sexual orientation, including one-to-one sessions, sexual health guidance, access to clinical gender identity services, and opportunities to meet other LGBT+ young people in a safe space. We also offer family support, hate crime reporting, and fun activities such as sailing and climbing. Our impact is evident in the tailored support plans we create for individuals, the self-referrals and referrals from family members, volunteers, and professionals we receive, and the positive feedback from the community we serve.

Our dedicated team at Waythrough is committed to providing free, confidential support for mental health, alcohol, drugs, housing, and related areas in friendly, local places. We cater to young people aged 11-25, individuals who identify as LGBT+, and family members concerned about a young LGBT+ person in the specified areas. Through our services, we aim to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can explore their identity, access essential resources, and engage in meaningful activities. Our merger with Aquarius as a subsidiary and our ongoing commitment to legal and regulatory finalization demonstrate our dedication to expanding our impact and reach within the community.
