Thurrock Council for Voluntary Service TCVS is the Local Infrastructure Organisation (LIO) for the local voluntary and community sector organisations. TCVS provides resources, advice, support and information, training and networking opportunities to VCS in Thurrock. All this aim to build the capacity of the VCS and enabling them to function according to their mission statement.

The Beehive is the perfect venue for your training, meetings and conferences at competitive prices. Our building is in a great central location, being less than a 3 minute walk from Grays Station C2C Service &amp; the Bus Terminal. We also offer free limited parking for all room hirers.Refreshments are available in all rooms upon request for a small charge and all rooms at the Beehive offer free Wi-Fi for you and your attendees.

Session 1 – Understanding and Shaping Section 106 - Online SessionOverview: This session will provide an introduction to Section 106 (S106) planning obligations — what they are, how they operate, and how community input can help shape spending priorities.Agenda:<ul><li>Overview of Section 106 – Understanding the S106 and CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) tests, and where we are to date.</li><li>Community Influence – Example of how community dialogue has already helped shape S106 spending decisions.</li><li>Future Opportunities – Presentation of the Top 5 unallocated S106 funds available for future community benefit.</li></ul>Outcome: Participants will gain a clear understanding of how S106 funds work and learn about current opportunities for involvement in shaping spending decisions — setting the stage for a deeper discussion in Session 2.

Session 2 – Hybrid Workshop: Putting Section 106 into Action Joint Aims:<ul><li>To discuss and generate ideas for how to use the five unallocated S106 funds introduced in the first Session.</li><li>To influence future Section 106 agreements, including:</li><li class="ql-indent-1">An update on the Infrastructure Requirement List (IRL)</li><li class="ql-indent-1">A demonstration of how the IRL works</li><li class="ql-indent-1">A collaborative exercise to test proposed ideas against the CIL Regulation tests for potential inclusion on the IRL.</li></ul>Outcome:Participants will collaboratively develop project ideas, understand how proposals are assessed for inclusion on the IRL, and have a direct opportunity to shape future S106 priorities and spending.
