They will not consider applications from Community Interest Companies (CICs).Charities and CIOs must meet the following criteria:<ul><li>Deliver activities to meet an identified need for vulnerable members of the community</li><li>Have a planned expenditure of under £200,000 during the financial year in which you are applying for funding.</li><li>Have at least one year’s published accounts</li></ul>The Small Grants Programme is a rolling funding programme for one-off grants of up to £5,000. Presentation topics include digital inclusion and access to primary health care services, smoking cessation and social prescribing navigation via the NHS and local community. This half-day session will delve into crucial aspects of governance, providing valuable insights into the roles and responsibilities of a governing body. Effectively, empowering you to steer your organisation to uphold the principles of good governance. Aims of the session<ul><li>What governance and trusteeship is.</li><li>The roles and responsibilities of trustees.</li><li>The legal duties of the board.</li><li>Trustees liabilities.</li><li>Duties for Company Directors.</li><li>The common difficulties faced by trustees.</li></ul> Learning outcomes &nbsp;Delegates will be able to:<ul><li>Understand the roles and responsibilities of a governing body.&nbsp;</li><li>Understand the duties as company directors.</li><li>Understand charitable status and charity trustees' duties.</li><li>Understand the broader overview of other responsibilities of the governing body.</li></ul> Based on the National Occupational Standards for Management &amp; Leadership. TrainerSomanah Achadoo has developed and successfully delivered various courses while working at Voluntary Action Camden (VAC) and as a self-employed Management Consultant/Project Manager. He has delivered accredited courses in partnership with education providers such as universities and FE colleges as well as not-for-profit organisations. Non-accredited courses have also been designed and delivered to staff, trustees, and volunteers working in both statutory and the voluntary &amp; community/ charity/ not-for-profit sectors. Some courses were commissioned by local authorities and others by charities, and some were developed due to the need of the sector and were self-funded by the learners with match funding from the Skills Funding Agency.

We are pleased to announce that Match My Project is launching with Hackney Giving on Thursday 28 November 2024.&nbsp;Match My Project is an online matchmaking platform that facilitates collaboration between suppliers and community organisations.&nbsp;The Match My Project team has been working with Hackney Giving and its stakeholders over the last few months, with the concerted aim to channel resources towards community projects to deliver Social Value outcomes relevant to the needs of Hackney's local communities and environment.&nbsp;Using Match My Project creates many benefits for Hackney's stakeholders, including, but not limited to:<ul><li>Community organisations receive much needed support.</li><li>Suppliers gain access to community organisations.</li><li>Businesses not tendering with the Council also have the opportunity to offer support to Hackney's community organisations.</li><li>Social Value and CSR commitments are verified.</li></ul>&nbsp;Please join us on the 28 November to hear Dan Ebanks, Zahra Shah and the Hackney Giving team introduce the platform.
