Freedom charity are offering volunteers ages 18-25&nbsp;the opportunity to volunteer on their community allotment. All the produce grown in this allotment is for the Freedom low cost Stepping Stone Food Pantry, which is accessible for those in need within our community. You will learn all about soil management and improvement, pest prevention and control, composting techniques, plant division, irrigation, propagation and much more. Not only learning green skills, but also improving physical and mental health. Do you love fashion, the environment and are aged 18-25? Then this opportunity is right for you! Freedom charity have a secondhand clothes shop open Monday to Friday 9am – 12pm. Volunteering here is flexible and you can choose what day suits you best. Buying clothing secondhand has a big social and environmental impact. Not only is it more affordable in times of need, it also helps to reduce carbon emissions, waste and use of natural resources. Reusing secondhand clothes also helps to prevent them from ending up in landfills. Groundwork are offering volunteers aged 16-25 the opportunity to learn green skills, help local wildlife and improve physical and mental wellbeing. Volunteering will involve maintenance work along the Archaeological Way. It will occur every other Wednesday between 09.30am and 13.30pm with each session covering a different part of the Archaeological Way which will be confirmed with you. Lead Something Wild in Bolsover! Are you aged 16–25 and passionate about nature, wildlife, and making a difference? We’re launching a brand new youth-led conservation group at Castle Leisure Park in Bolsover, and we’re looking for young people to run it. This is very much an interactive session and one where questions are encouraged. It’s a broad overview of the grant making world. This event is free of charge to groups in Bolsover District.

The Community Point scheme aims to help victims to cope and recover from crime by developing relationships between Nottinghamshire Victim Care and community organisations, making referral pathways easier, and ensuring victims can quickly access the right support from the right people. We are commissioned to provide: Emotional Support- Talking through the wider impacts of the office, delivering across a range of options- Help to understand the impact of their feelings of safety- Working together to agree a support plan and identifying strategies to increase feelings of safety, building confidence, resilience, and empowering them to take back control Practical Support- Liaising/signposting to other support resources such as debt management, counselling, befriending and advocacy- Restorative justice (if the offender has been convicted)- Support with work applications, filling in forms, registering for healthcare needs- Assistance with accessing correct health care- Coping skills and finding hobbies/activities- VCOP, liaising with the police, impact statements and support at court- CIC claims and referrals for DA/SV support Becoming a Community Point: If you are part of an organization interested in becoming a Community Point, you can consider two different types of Community Point:➢ Primary Community Points: Designated individuals within these organizations receive training to identify and assess victim needs and guide them towards support pathways offered by DVS. We work closely with these organisations to enhance support and provide access to wider resources, and also co-work cases and hold drop-in sessions➢ Secondary Community Points: These organizations receive awareness training about DVS services and referral pathways, maintaining a strong relationship without undertaking initial assessments
