The Moorlands Community Charity

This organisation has run The Moorlands Community Centre in Old Goole for over twenty years, starting from a room in a disused school to currently a centre which has a community cafe, IT suite, meeting rooms, art studio and an area for preparation of our Meals on Wheels service.

<h1>🎄 The Moorlands Christmas Party is Back!</h1>We’re so excited to invite all our young people to the annual Moorlands Christmas Party — a festive tradition that brings everyone together for fun, food, and celebration after the last day of term! Since most of you will be finishing early on Friday 19th December, the centre will be open from lunchtime to welcome you in before the official break begins. Here’s what the day will look like:🕝 From 2:30pmWe’ll kick things off with the pool table out and the computer suite open — a chilled start to the afternoon while we finish setting up and get the food ready. 🍽️ At 4:00pmIt’s time to eat! We’ll be serving a festive buffet with holiday favourites like pigs in blankets, tasty veggies, meats, and more — something for everyone to enjoy! 🎉 From 4:30 to 5:30pmLet the games begin! Join in for quizzes, team challenges, and group activities with prizes to be won and plenty of laughs to be had. 🎤 From 5:30 to 6:30pmIt’s karaoke time! Sing your heart out or just enjoy the show. The pool table and computer suite will be back on too, so there’s something for everyone. 👥 Our amazing team of youth workers will be there throughout to make sure everyone has a great time. It’s shaping up to be a fantastic afternoon — we can’t wait to celebrate with you!

<h1>🎄 Christmas at The Moorlands🎄</h1> Join us for a festive day of fun, games, and good food at The Moorlands Youth and Community Centre! We’ll be kicking things off with some group sports at South Park, then heading back to the centre to relax, eat, and enjoy all your favourite activities — from pool and darts to gaming and more. Here’s the plan:🕦 Meet at The Moorlands at 11:30amWe’ll head off together to South Park at 11:45am for around an hour of group games like kick rounders, football, rounders, or whatever the group’s up for! 🍗 Back to The Moorlands for foodAfter the games, we’ll return to the centre for a tasty lunch — possibly our famous chicken wraps (subject to change, but always delicious!). 🎯 Afternoon fun until 3:30pmWe’ll have mini pool competitions, darts tournaments, and the computer suite and gaming stations will be open for everyone to enjoy. 👥 There’ll be plenty of youth workers around to support and join in the fun. It’s a great way to spend the Saturday before Christmas — and a perfect chance for parents to get some last-minute wrapping or errands done while the young people are having a blast!
