Enjoy the outdoors with a morning of gentle walking across Rye Harbour Nature Reserve with our walk leader volunteers, every Wednesday morning. Anyone can join in and there's no need to book. The walks end at approximately 11.30am, usually at the&nbsp;<a href="https://rye.sussexwildlifetrust.org.uk/discovery-centre" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(159, 162, 32);">Discovery Centre</a>&nbsp;to give the option for refreshments. These weekly walks are free, short and friendly, suitable for all abilities, and aim to be beneficial for both physical and mental wellbeing. They're an opportunity to meet new people, and they'll give you a taste of our coastal wildlife throughout the seasons, as our volunteer walk leaders share their knowledge of the birds and the terrain. Ideal for coming by bus. Public Transport:&nbsp;The 313 Stagecoach bus travels from Rye train station to Rye Harbour village.Accessibility:&nbsp;There is usually a choice of two walks, including a gently-paced 2 mile (3 km) walk on relatively level ground. Most of the route is easy for wheelchairs, and the bird hides are accessible. However a section of the walk has some uneven and loose surfaces, making it moderately difficult for manual wheelchairs. The Discovery Centre is a wheelchair-friendly venue, with a step-free entrance ramp, toilet facilities include two that are wheelchair accessible. The public toilets in the village have a disabled toilet which can be accessed with a radar key. What to bring:&nbsp;Please wear suitable outdoor clothing/footwear and sun protection for the weather conditions. You may wish to bring a water bottle. Rye Harbour Discovery Centre

A warm monthly community space for adults with neurodiversity and for parents of neurodiverse children who would like connection, understanding, and gentle time in nature. Join us for a calm and friendly morning starting inside Rye Harbour Discovery Centre where we begin with coffee &amp; chat from 10.30 to 11.30, followed by an outdoor nature walk from 11.30 to 12.30. These gatherings offer a supportive space to meet others, share experiences, and enjoy the grounding benefits of the beautiful Rye Harbour Nature Reserve. Parents are also welcome to attend with their children if this suits their family situation. This is a FREE community event held in collaboration with Puzzle Tree Academy and Sussex Wildlife Trust.
