Urban Circle Newport is an independent youth arts and advocacy charity based in Newport, South Wales. We engage, support and empower young people and communities.

A brand-new community garden is opening in Newport, and you are invited to explore it.Join Urban Circle Newport on Monday 24 August, from 12pm to 2pm, for the opening of Urban Grows at The Share Centre.Once a neglected outdoor space, the garden has been transformed into a welcoming place where young people, families and community groups can grow food, learn practical skills and connect with others.Urban Grows is part of THRIVE, Urban Circle’s eco and wellbeing pathway. Activities will include growing food and herbs, learning about sustainability, cooking healthy meals on a budget and supporting wellbeing.The project is inspired by Urban Circle’s community roots and our relationship with the Rastafari Indigenous Village in Montego Bay, Jamaica, where we have learned about regenerative growing, Ital cooking and medicinal herbs.We will listen to the people using the garden. Their feedback, stories and participation will help us understand its impact and shape future activities.Come and see what is growing, meet the people involved and discover how you can take part.
