Inspire is South Tynesides Local Infrastructure organisation which works with local VCSE and third sector organisations to offer Information, advice, guidance and partnership working. 

NEPACS is a charity which aims to promote a positive future for people who have been affected by adverse situations in their lives, they work with families, young people and children, as well as those affected by the criminal justice or care systems. The Trauma Informed Awareness Training introduces the concept of trauma, how it occurs and why its effects can vary greatly between individuals. Learning Outcomes:<ul><li>Define - what is trauma?</li><li>Recognise - how trauma occurs and impacts people differently.</li><li>Understand - the prevalence and trauma responses.</li><li>Identify - principles of trauma-informed practice and how to apply them. </li><li>Consider - specific trauma interventions for yourself or your organisation, resources and next steps.</li></ul> This training is limited to 20 spaces only -You must be a VCSE organisation to attend.This training is fully funded, so we ask each designated person booking onto this course to be dedicated to attending and engaging. If possible, we do ask for 48 hours’ notice if anyone needs to cancel. The Hidden Sentence Awareness Training gives an insight into the specific issues experienced by children and families of prisoners and the resources available to help you support these families. Learning Outcomes: <ul><li>Understand the impact of imprisonment on prisoners' families </li><li>Understand the support needs of prisoners families </li><li>Understand the needs and wishes of prisoners families</li><li>Increased awareness of the range of resources availble for people working with prisoners families</li></ul> This training is limited to 20 spaces only -You must be a VCSE organisation to attend. Hidden Sentence Awareness Training - NEPACS

This training is a bespoke session for South Tyneside VCSE The Volunteers with Criminal Justice Experience Training aims that by the end of this session you should be able to; Recognise – the value of hiring people with lived experience of&nbsp;the CJS.&nbsp;Understand – the DBS system and how to use it responsibly.&nbsp;Approach – criminal conviction disclosures with confidence and&nbsp;empathy.&nbsp;Identify – inclusive recruitment and selection practices.&nbsp;Consider – proportionate risk assessments, management and safeguarding.&nbsp;Reflect – on personal and organisational policies and practices.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This training is limited to 20 spaces only -You must be a VCSE organisation to attend.This training is fully funded, so we ask each designated person booking onto this course to be dedicated to attending and engaging. Volunteers with Criminal Justice Experience Training - NEPACS

HealthNet is a monthly networking forum hosted by Inspire South Tyneside. This network meeting is the first Friday of every month, 10-12:30pm, where our local services in south tyneside can come together to discuss health and wellbeing topics in South Tyneside, Health and Wellbeing services in South Tyneside can present of give updates whilst meeting other VCSE, Public Health or NHS partners in the borough. The meeting typically takes around 2.5 hours, with 2-4 guest speakers, and a networking break with tea and coffee. To be part of this network, you should already be a member of Inspire.
