Inspire is South Tynesides Local Infrastructure organisation which works with local VCSE and third sector organisations to offer Information, advice, guidance and partnership working. 

*** This training is now FULLY BOOKED - please contact Inspire South Tyneside to be added to the waiting list *** St Oswald's Hospice Community Project Lead - Laura Barret, will be offering a fully funded Grief, Loss and Bereavement training session specifically to South Tyneside's VCSE organisations. This 2 hour session will offer awareness and informed training for VCSE staff and volunteers on how to use the correct tools and communication skills to have confidence in dealing with the subject of death and the complexities around it. You take away and learn how to:<ul><li>Listen with empathy and respond with compassion.</li><li>Have meaningful conversations about grief and loss.</li><li>Offer reassurance without feeling like you have to "fix" things.</li><li>Signpost to helpful resources for further support.</li></ul> The purpose of this training is to help community groups, charities and social enterprise organisations build up competence and confidence when dealing with grief and loss by increasing grief awareness and building skills to have compassionate conversations whether that be with other staff, clients or volunteers you work with. With 1% of the UK population dying each year, many people turn first to local charities, community groups, and VCSE organisations for help. Staff and volunteers often want to offer comfort, but aren’t always sure what to say or how best to support someone who’s grieving - This training will offer the best guidance for that. This training is limited to 20 spaces only -You must be a VCSE organisation part of Inspires or The South Tyneside Pledge Memberships.This training is fully funded, so we ask each designated person booking onto this course to be dedicated to attending and engaging. If possible, we do ask for 48 hours’ notice if anyone needs to cancel. Grief, Loss and  Bereavement Training (For South Tyneside VCSE)

HealthNet is a monthly networking forum hosted by Inspire South Tyneside. This network meeting is the first Friday of every month, 10-12:30pm, where our local services in south tyneside can come together to discuss health and wellbeing topics in South Tyneside, Health and Wellbeing services in South Tyneside can present of give updates whilst meeting other VCSE, Public Health or NHS partners in the borough. The meeting typically takes around 2.5 hours, with 2-4 guest speakers, and a networking break with tea and coffee. To be part of this network, you should already be a member of Inspire.
