Summer Of FunWYCP’s Summer of Fun program will offer children and young people aged 8-16 a variety of on-site and offsite activities to enhance their personal, social, and emotional development. The program will run for 4 days a week, for 5 weeks during the school summer holiday, including two residential experiences. It will provide opportunities for young people to engage in positive activities while receiving a healthy meal/food at every session. The activities will encompass a diverse range of experiences, and the program will also incorporate physical activities, including weekly group games and sports sessions. Off-site visits will be available, and when a trip has limited capacity, alternative sessions will be offered.The program will feature Centre-based activities, off-site activities in local parks, and activity centres. As part of the Summer of Fun, up to 30 children will have the opportunity to take part in a five-day residential at the Farms for City Children (FFCC). This will enable children to immerse themselves in farming for a week, gaining a deeper understanding of food sources and developing valuable skills, including teamwork, social skills, reduced reliance on technology, and healthy eating habits. Through immersive activities spanning five days, children will develop essential soft skills, including communication, confidence, compassion, courage, curiosity, connection, conservation, community, and collaboration. This will take place in week 2, from July 2th to 31st.Additionally, there will be a five-day camp residential trip to Playaway Eshton Grange in week 4 (10th -14th aug), where young people will camp, sleep under the stars, participate in stargazing, experience the Perseid meteor shower, learn essential life skills, engage in healthy cooking and sports activities, and be surrounded by nature throughout the week.Summer of fun starts 20th July – 21st August 2026

Walton Youth & Community Project (WYCP) is a registered charity dedicated to improving the lives of children, young people, and families in the Walton area of North Liverpool. Our tailored programs and projects are designed to address the specific needs of the community, evolving in response to those needs. We offer a range of activities and services, including youth nights, one-to-one support, community work, holiday programs, and detached work, providing positive experiences and support for young people aged 8-18. Our dedicated team of youth workers goes out into the community to meet young people on their own turf, providing a safe space for them to discuss any issues or concerns they may have. Through our innovative approach and collaboration with multi-agency organizations, we have made a significant impact on the lives of local children, young people, and families, creating life-changing experiences and fostering a sense of community.

Farms For City Children 2026 - Farms for City children - Wick Court, Gloucestershire. Wick Court is an impressive Elizabethan moated property once used as a hunting lodge by the nearby Lords of Berkeley and rumoured to have hosted Elizabeth I. The majestic house looks out across idyllic pastures to the reed beds of the River Severn – a view that has changed little since the first recorded farmstead stood on this land in the Middle Ages.​​ Wick Court accommodates up to 36 children and 5 adults.During a visit to Wick Court, children will be immersed in the practical and meaningful farming tasks of the day, such as:​Feeding rare-breeds poultry and collecting eggs • grooming horses • feeding dairy calves • herding sheep and halter training lambs • feeding and weighing pigs • working in the kitchen garden to sow, grow, tend and harvest the fruits and vegetables • cooking nutritious meals using fresh farm produce • picking apples and pressing fresh juice • beekeeping • storytelling • Forest School activities like den building and fire lighting • birdwatching • willow harvesting and weaving • Bio-diversity walk &amp; draw&nbsp;Children who learn outdoors know more, understand more, feel better, behave better, work cooperatively, and are physically healthier. The benefits of a visit extend long beyond the children’s time at the farms – they take their new skills and experiences back home and to school, with parents, carers and teachers seeing positive and lasting impacts on their behaviour, learning and self-esteem. We are asking for a minimum donation of £50 towards the cost of the week. This can be made via our online donation page. The farm at Wick Court is an Elizabethan moated manor house once used as a hunting lodge by the Lords of Berkeley and rumoured to have been visited by Elizabeth I. Although grand in its history, this intimate house stands on a site looking out across idyllic farmland to the reed beds of the beautiful River Severn. A haven for wildlife, visitors here enjoy a nature nurturing balance of biodiverse activities with birdwatching and beekeeping and some heritage farming with rare breeds stock.Poultry, pigs, horses and ponies are cared for by our visitors who also get the unique opportunity to visit Olbury Farm and participate in the robotic milking of a large dairy herd. Stunning heritage orchards with rare species of fruit tree make for fantastic woodland sessions, willow and wool weaving and storytelling in the wonderful roundhouse.The vibrant kitchen garden produces lush fruit and vegetables, and all of our teachers and children can undertake sowing, potting, harvesting and then cooking sessions indoors to make nutritious food to eat at dinnertime. Countryside walks enable mindfulness sessions of observing and drawing nature, building upon nature connectedness that transforms the young person on their return to home and school.

Summer Camp 2026 - 5 days - We have organised a&nbsp;camping residential&nbsp;at Play&nbsp;Away, Eshton Grange near Skipton as part of our ongoing youth provision. &nbsp;This will take place from&nbsp; Monday, 10h to Friday, 14th&nbsp;August 2026.&nbsp;We&nbsp;are meeting at our premises on City&nbsp;Road, North&nbsp;Liverpool Award Centre, at&nbsp;12. noon on Monday, 10th&nbsp;and will return on&nbsp;Friday, approximately 2-3 pm&nbsp;The cost is&nbsp;now £80, reduced from&nbsp;£150 due to&nbsp;additional&nbsp;funding received. This&nbsp;includes food, accommodation and activities. ﻿The possible activities (weather dependent)&nbsp;are Team Games, campcraft, water slide**, walking, animals, a trip to Skipton, swimming, stargazing, outdoor cinema, campfire, and other weather-appropriate activities. **This is sliding down a hill with water on a tarpaulin, a high-risk activity if instructions are not followed.&nbsp;

Play Away based in the Yorkshire Dales National Park has established a safe purpose-equipped, fully inclusive recreational &amp; educational facility for young people.The Centre is open all year, and is a safe and secure environment for residentials and day visits for Youth Organisations / Educational / Schools.In thirteen acres of its own land, the centre is also perfectly situated for visits to the many attractions in the surrounding areas.All staff at the centre are fully trained in accordance with current government legislation concerning safety, protection. However, it is your responsibility to supervise your group. You must have competent staff to manage all your activities, including the pool.
