Our Sip &amp; Stitch Club is back, this time funded by the London Borough of Hammersmith &amp; Fulham!Join La Modista Sewing Hub for our friendly, creative space for older residents and unpaid carers in Hammersmith &amp; Fulham.Bring your own small sewing or mending project, or join in with one led by our instructor — all levels welcome! Enjoy a cup of tea/coffee, meet new people, and spend some time sewing together in a welcoming community space. Beginner Sewing Course – 6 Weeks This 6-week course is designed for absolute beginners and those wanting to refresh their sewing skills. Participants will learn how to confidently use a sewing machine while creating a range of practical accessories for the home and for everyday use. The course builds skills step by step, starting with the basics and progressing to more detailed projects such as pin holders, tote bags, zippered items, cushion covers.. Sessions are hands-on and supportive, with a focus on teaching sewing skills that can be used to upcycle materials, reduce waste, and continue sewing independently after the course. We value participants’ ideas, and there will be opportunities for slight variations in projects in line with participants’ interests. Please note: This course is designed as a continuous learning experience, with skills building from one session to the next. For this reason, all sessions are booked together for a total cost of £210. Individual sessions are not available.If you’re unable to attend a session, please let us know in advance and we’ll do our best to support you where possible.
