With Claire Welling, WYCAS training officer since 1999, you’ll benefit from her practical, accessible approach to demystifying finance and strengthening organisational confidence. Create 26 is a new leadership and collaboration conference for North Yorkshire’s VCSE sector, bringing together people from every corner of community life to explore fresh thinking and celebrate what’s working well. Neurodiversity is part of every workplace - including yours. This practical, two‑hour online session is designed for managers, leaders and HR professionals in the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector who want to build confidence, deepen understanding and strengthen inclusive practice. Together, we’ll explore what neurodiversity and neurodivergence mean in real terms, demystify commonly used language, and look at what it can feel like to be neurodivergent at work. You’ll gain clear, jargon‑free explanations of the conditions often included within neurodivergence, alongside realistic, strengths‑based strategies you can use straight away to support neurodivergent colleagues and foster psychologically safe, compassionate workplaces. The session is led by Jo Holloway-Green, an experienced trainer and consultant with over 20 years in the voluntary and public sectors. With a background in social care, advocacy, mental health and safeguarding, Jo is known for her warm, inclusive facilitation style and her ability to create supportive spaces for learning and reflection. Inclusive volunteering: a project? Or an approach? &nbsp; For this year’s Volunteers’ Week,&nbsp;we’ll&nbsp;be meeting at the Mencap building in Northallerton to celebrate the work of Hambleton Community Action (HCA).&nbsp; Meet Becca Briggs and Hetty Nanor from Hambleton Community Action’s Volunteering Team. They lead volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing support, and they’re excited to share how HCA has reshaped its approach to volunteering. With nearly a decade of supported‑volunteering projects behind them - including a recent partnership with Rural Arts, Carers Plus, and Stokesley Community Care Association - they’ll offer a real look at what makes HCA’s model special. Becca and Hetty will also explore how we can work together to build a volunteering culture where people feel empowered, listened to, and valued as equal partners in creating change. This is a network meeting for volunteer co-ordinators from across North Yorkshire,&nbsp;offering an opportunity&nbsp;to come together&nbsp;and&nbsp;share information, advice,&nbsp;tips&nbsp;and thoughts on all aspects of volunteer management.&nbsp; Vicki Sharp is a Development Officer with Community First Yorkshire’s VCSE Support team. With grant funding increasingly hard to secure, social enterprises are relying more on traded income to sustain their work. The Community Business Network brings together organisations across North Yorkshire to share knowledge, build partnerships and strengthen financial resilience. This session will focus on understanding your market - who your customers are, what motivates them, and how this insight can help grow income and impact. Join fellow social entrepreneurs for practical learning, networking and collaboration. Community Climate Conference 2026: Practical climate action in York and North Yorkshire is a one-day conference in York bringing together community climate groups, change makers, village halls, politicians, community anchor organisations, VCSE organisations and others from across York and North Yorkshire. The event will explore how communities can take practical climate action that supports a more sustainable future. It will feature keynote speakers sharing regional and national perspectives, alongside engaging breakout sessions celebrating local action and success stories from across York and North Yorkshire. There will also be a marketplace session, giving attendees the chance to meet and learn from groups already taking climate action in their communities.
