We're also the ACRE Network member for North, South and West Yorkshire, providing advocacy for rural communities and parish councils. Join us for a welcoming and informative session focused on health and wellbeing in later life. This is a great opportunity to hear from guest speakers and connect with others who are passionate about supporting older people in our communities. Our Age Friendly Spring Network meeting focuses on Health and Wellbeing, and gives members the opportunity to hear from several guest speakers, and share best practice on how we can support older people to age and live well in North Yorkshire. We’ll hear from <a href="https://northyorkshiresport.co.uk/" rel="noopener noreferrer">North Yorkshire Sport</a> on the importance of staying active in later life, as well as Rachel Gregory from <a href="https://www.opencountry.org.uk/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Open Country</a>, a Yorkshire charity with over 35 years of experience of working alongside disabled people, helping them to access and enjoy the countryside. They provide a variety of outdoor activities and the provision of information, training and advice for all. We’ll hear from Holly Bainbridge of <a href="https://www.oxmoorcareconsultancy.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer">Oxmoor Care Consultancy</a>, who will share practical insights on navigating care in later life, including choosing support, accessing funding, and ensuring the right care is in place. Holly will also talk about her work with Primrose Care Farm, highlighting how outdoor, person-centred support can benefit people living with dementia. There’ll be plenty of time to connect, share experiences, and discuss how together we can help older people live well in North Yorkshire.

How to stay secure online explores the most common cyber threats facing organisations today and the practical steps everyone can take to reduce risk. With grant funding increasingly hard to secure, social enterprises are relying more on traded income to sustain their work. The Community Business Network brings together organisations across North Yorkshire to share knowledge, build partnerships and strengthen financial resilience. This session will focus on understanding your market - who your customers are, what motivates them, and how this insight can help grow income and impact. Join us for the Ryedale VCSE Network meeting on Wednesday 24 June 10am–12.30pm at The Pavilion, Helmsley Sports Club. This quarterly network is a welcoming space for voluntary and community organisations of all sizes to connect, share ideas, and strengthen partnerships. Whether you’re new to the sector or well-established, your voice matters. Community Climate Conference 2026: Practical climate action in York and North Yorkshire is a one-day conference in York bringing together community climate groups, change makers, village halls, politicians, community anchor organisations, VCSE organisations and others from across York and North Yorkshire. The event will explore how communities can take practical climate action that supports a more sustainable future. It will feature keynote speakers sharing regional and national perspectives, alongside engaging breakout sessions celebrating local action and success stories from across York and North Yorkshire. There will also be a marketplace session, giving attendees the chance to meet and learn from groups already taking climate action in their communities. Attendees will leave feeling inspired by real stories of success and empowered to bring practical climate action into their own communities. The conference is also a valuable opportunity to connect people, groups and organisations working towards a shared sustainable future, strengthening the growing network of community climate action across York and North Yorkshire. This event is brought to you by North Yorkshire Climate Coalition, York Friends of Earth and Village Green (a project supported by Community First Yorkshire and funded by the National Lottery).
