In response to the health and wellbeing theme of this year's Village Halls Week (March 16-22), we'll be at <a href="http://www.arkendale.org.uk/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 102, 204);">Arkendale Community Hall</a> near Knaresborough on Thursday 19 March for a practical training session focused on CPR - the emergency lifesaving procedure. Join us from 12.30pm when we'll kick off with a light buffet lunch - a great opportunity to meet trustees from other halls and share ideas. Then from 1.30pm we'll be joined by Steve Smith from <a href="https://firstaidertraining.org.uk/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank" style="color: rgb(0, 102, 204);">Firstaider Training</a>. Steve will guide participants through essential CPR techniques and how to respond to medical emergencies, offering a valuable opportunity to learn new skills or refresh existing ones. Open to anyone involved in running a community building, the session is suitable for all levels and delivered by highly experienced military and emergency first aid practitioners with over 15 years’ teaching experience.

Learn to communicate your impact This interactive workshop will help you understand what “impact” really means in the context of your work, what information you need to evidence it, and how to turn evaluation data into clear, compelling stories for the audiences that matter most - from funders and partners to the communities you support. Through a mix of discussion and practical writing exercises, you’ll explore how to identify the difference your activities make, gather the right information to demonstrate that difference, and communicate it in a way that is engaging, confident and meaningful. During the workshop, you will:<ul><li>Explore what impact looks like for your organisation and activities</li><li>Identify the key information needed to understand and demonstrate your impact</li><li>Practise transforming data and feedback into strong, accessible narratives.</li></ul> This session is ideal for charities and community groups wanting to showcase the value of their work, strengthen funding applications, improve reporting, and communicate their impact more effectively to supporters and stakeholders. About the trainer<a href="https://www.rlf.org.uk/writer/robin-etherington/ " rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Robin Etherington</a> regularly delivers Royal Literary Fund workshops on topics ranging from funding applications and report writing to reflective practice and demonstrating impact. Before joining the Royal Literary Fund, he taught creative writing and creative free thinking in schools across the UK for 15 years. A versatile portfolio writer, Robin has produced graphic novels, novels, instructional writing guides, screenplays, animation scripts and songs.

Create 26 is a new leadership and collaboration conference for North Yorkshire’s VCSE sector, bringing together people from every corner of community life to explore fresh thinking and celebrate what’s working well.
