Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre (WSPC) is the only Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) centre in West London offering riding lessons and equine therapy to children, young people and adults.

Vaulting is a unique and exciting discipline that combines gymnastics and dance on horseback, offering children a fun, safe, and confidence-building way to connect with horses. Vaulting can be used as a way into riding, or to improve riding skills. In a typical vaulting lesson, children learn to move rhythmically and creatively first on a specially designed barrel and then when they have mastered that, they try on a horse.Sessions last 90 minutes, and a typical session would consist of the following:&nbsp;·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Warm up·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Gymnastics&nbsp;·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Barrel training&nbsp;·&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cool down.This series of 4 session are a great introduction to vaulting and provided free of charge. This is an introductory course for children and young people from aged 5-16years old.

Wormwoodscrubs pony centre are offering a free 3 hour educational and creative workshop for a group of 10 children aged 7–11 years . The session will be led by experienced, DBS-checked staff and volunteers and will combine learning about pony care with hands-on experience of pony grooming and then a chance to make your own creative expression on a pony theme. We will end with a picnic on the Scrubs. All art materials and food will be provided.
