<h1>Hextable Lunch Club</h1> Older residents can come along to our lunch club in Hextable for hot food and drinks and a chat with others. The monthly club offers a delicious hot main meal with&nbsp;dessert&nbsp;as well as tea, coffee and a chance to socialise. There is a £5 charge for this. The club is taking place at St Peter's Church,&nbsp;Hextable from 12noon&nbsp;to 2pm on the third Monday of every month from 15 July 2024 and will run until the end of the year.&nbsp;<h2>Book</h2> Places can either be booked at the end of every lunch club for the following lunch club, or by emailing communities@sevenoaks.gov.uk or calling 01732 227000. Bookings will close 7 days before each lunch club, so please make sure to reserve your place in advance. If you wish to attend the lunch club, please ensure your payment is dropped into Next Door Hextable cafe in an envelope with your full name clearly written on it 7 days before the lunch club. The lunch club is run in partnership with St Peter’s and St Paul’s and Nextdoor Hextable.

<h2>Free Mental Health Courses for Sevenoaks Communities </h2> Sevenoaks District Council in partnership with Mid-Kent MIND and KCC will be delivering free training to promote an awareness of good mental health and suicide prevention.&nbsp;Aimed at all partners, community and voluntary sector, practitioners, community champions, safeguarding leads, health care workers, and volunteers in the community across the Sevenoaks District.&nbsp;These courses will give you the skills and knowledge you need to start a conversation with someone who you believe is at risk or might be struggling with their mental health.&nbsp;These courses are free for anyone who lives or works in Kent and Medway thanks to funding from Kent County Council and Medway Council . What will the course cover? During the session, you will learn more about the mental health drivers that can cause suicidal thoughts and how to recognise the signs that someone may be feeling suicidal early on. We will explore which groups are statistically at greater risk of taking their own life and the relationship between self-harm and suicide.&nbsp;Through group activities and discussions, you will also learn how to identify the warning signs that someone might be struggling and what might cause them to experience thoughts of taking their own life.&nbsp;We will cover the different levels of suicidal ideation and the tools that can be used to help assess the level of risk and what support is needed. This will include how to create a safety plan and where to get additional support locally and nationally.&nbsp;

Learn how to cook healthy meals from scratch with our FREE face-to-face cooking course starting Tuesday 24th February 2026. Our five-week course will help you prepare cost-effective, nutritious and delicious meals, whilst learning how to budget and reduce food waste. You'll gain confidence through hands-on cooking experience, creating dishes from stir frys to pasta and soups to curries. All equipment and ingredients will be provided and everyone who completes the course will receive a FREE recipe book and spice kit. Everyone is welcome. To book on you must be able to attend all five sessions on Tuesday 24th February, 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th March.

<h1>Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work </h1> In partnership with Kent Adult Educations' Response programme, we will be holding a Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work Course at the Council Offices. This course is open to anyone looking to enhance employment prospects, working as a volunteer or earning below £24,000 per annum. Attendees will need to provide photo ID as this full day course leads to an accredited qualification.Refreshments will be provided, however participants should make their own arrangements for lunch.
