Sussex Bay is a regional collaboration working to restore our ocean while supporting thriving coastal communities and sustainable local economies, across 100 miles of coastline for 1.7 million residents.

A UK-wide citizen science project inviting people to record birds in local green spaces between April and June. The Living with Mammals survey invites people across the UK to record the wild mammals they see in their gardens, parks, allotments, or other local green spaces. By collecting these observations, researchers can track how mammal populations are changing and better understand the health of our urban and rural environments.Taking part is simple. Choose a nearby green space and record any mammals you see, or signs they leave behind such as footprints or droppings. The Sunset Survey (April – October) brings you a perfect opportunity to get together with family/friends and discover bats and other wildlife in your local area. This is ideal for you if you don’t have previous bat surveying experience. A participatory evening exploring memory, place and protection along the Sussex coast.A collective artwork, a shared story, a living map. A collective act of coastal remembering and care.&nbsp; Event details On the evening of Friday 12 June, join Sussex Bay and artist Laura Callaghan for a relaxed&nbsp;participatory gathering during her 'What the Water Gave Us'&nbsp;exhibition at the Fishing Quarter Gallery on Brighton Seafront. Together, we will create a large-scale evolving artwork and collective map of Sussex Bay shaped by&nbsp;memories, stories, place names, observations and acts of care connected to the coast. Across the evening, participants are invited to contribute through conversation, writing, drawing,&nbsp;mapping and the sharing of objects or artefacts connected to the sea. A relaxed outdoor session for families and young people to connect, play, and create music together in Wakehurst’s wild landscapes. Join us throughout the year to explore the power of sound and nature at Wakehurst. Take part in a two-hour outdoor session designed for families and young people. Each session includes a gentle walk, creative music-making, and moments of mindfulness surrounded by nature. Suitable for ages 5+. <h4>Sussex Marine and Coastal Forum</h4>Throughout Sussex Bay, there are several hundred groups, organisations and networks operating across the marine and intertidal areas. Sussex Bay is delighted to be part of the Sussex Marine and Costal Forum, a collaborative gathering, four times a year, of 22 members operating in parts of Sussex Bay. Members are committed to the conservation and enhancement of the marine and coastal environment.
