South Tyneside Family Hubs offer welcoming and friendly places where all children, young people, parents and carers can access support, information and help.

We are here for your whole family and will support you as your children grow, putting relationships at the heart of everything we do.

We are here to connect you to the right support, with the right person at a time that suits you.

Family Hubs provide a range of services in the local community, working with families to ensure that services meet the needs of infants, children, young people and parents and carers in the borough.

Bede Family Hub

This group provides support, advice and up-to-date information for breastfeeding your baby. It is a great opportunity to meet other breastfeeding parents and share ideas and experiences. This group provides breastfeeding support and advice in several layers from Health Visitors, Community Nursery Nurse, Early Years Practitioners, peer supporters and mum-to-mum in all aspects of breastfeeding.

Marine Park Family Hub

Baby massage supports bonding, sleep patterns and relaxation for you and your baby. These 4 or 5 sessions are for&nbsp;babies from birth to 6&nbsp;months. Please bring your own towel to each session, the massage oil will be provided for you. Booking is essential.

The weekly clinic&nbsp;gives the opportunity to get your baby / child weighed. The clinic is lead by a Health Visitor who&nbsp;can offer&nbsp;support, advice and information. To book a clinic appointment please ring 0191 283 2677.

Ridgeway Family Hub

The Mum's Talk Course aims to help people come together in a non-judgemental and friendly environment where people can come to start to understand more about the ways they are feeling, how their lives have changed and to develop new ways of thinking and helpful coping strategies. The course is 7 sessions long and is a therapy course based in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This therapy looks at how our thoughts, feelings and behaviours interact with each other and how we can develop new coping skills. The course covers topics such as:<ul><li>Challenging the myths and expectations of motherhood</li><li>Managing worry</li><li>Coping with negative thoughts</li><li>Understanding and overcoming anxiety</li><li>Re-connecting with your life and overcoming depression</li><li>The transition from person to Mam - and trying to get a balance between the two</li></ul> <h2>How to access the course</h2>You can call South Tyneside Lifecycle Primary Care Mental Health Service 0191 283 2937 and refer yourself; you would be offered a brief assessment.
