Kairos Women+

Kairos Women+ is a community-led organisation based in Paisley, Renfrewshire, dedicated to creating a welcoming space for all women+ (inclusive of trans women and non-binary people). Our mission is to inspire transformational change by offering a variety of workshops, events, training, and courses. Our projects include personal development courses, ESOL classes, wellness groups, and social spaces like our weekly Drop-In. We aim to foster connection, support, and empowerment, ensuring that you feel at home and are valued for who you are. 

We create a sense of belonging and community among women+, getting to know you and creating space to rediscover your potential. We are proud to be a safe haven where women+ can relax, learn, and connect with one another, making a meaningful impact in your life.

Fierce Women+ Rights and History Course explores the history you weren't taught in school. Focused on Scottish perspective. Women's Rights:&nbsp; Do you fancy a wee game of Top Trumps to discover some amazing women+ from throughout history? How about exploring how the rights of women+ have changed over the years through interactive activities?&nbsp;If this sounds good to you, book on to our Fierce Women+ Herstory session to come along and find out more!&nbsp; &nbsp;Childhood:&nbsp; Take a wander&nbsp;down memory lane&nbsp;with us&nbsp;to reminisce and discover&nbsp;childhood&nbsp;through some fun and thought-provoking interactive activities. Explore histories of&nbsp;traditional Scottish sweets&nbsp;whilst getting a wee sample or two plus get your hands on some traditional childhood toys! Book on to our Fierce Women+ Childhood session to get involved!&nbsp; Rule Breakers:&nbsp; Come along and find out more about&nbsp;the history of women+ who&nbsp;have been punished&nbsp;harshly&nbsp;by society&nbsp;for minor crimes&nbsp;or&nbsp;for crimes that were entirely fictional.&nbsp;Our&nbsp;Fierce Women+ Rule Breakers session explores&nbsp;through discussion and interactive activities the&nbsp;women+&nbsp;sentenced to prison and&nbsp;those accused of witchcraft.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Fashion and Beauty:&nbsp; How well do you know your&nbsp;crinoline from your bustle?&nbsp;Your platforms from your winklepickers?&nbsp;Come along to our Fierce Women+ Fashion and Beauty session&nbsp;and&nbsp;take&nbsp;part in some interactive activities,&nbsp;discussions&nbsp;and games&nbsp;to&nbsp;find out more&nbsp;about&nbsp;the&nbsp;changing fashion trends&nbsp;of women+&nbsp;throughout history.&nbsp;&nbsp; Work:&nbsp; A woman’s work is never done! Our Fierce Women+ Work session&nbsp;discusses&nbsp;the&nbsp;jobs that were historically stereotyped as ‘women’s work’&nbsp;and why they were thought of in that way.&nbsp;Through interactive activities and chatting together, we will&nbsp;explore women+ working lives and inspirational women+ who have defied the&nbsp;stereotypes placed on them by society.&nbsp;&nbsp; Cookery:&nbsp; Do you love a bit of baking or&nbsp;perhaps just&nbsp;a wee&nbsp;biscuit&nbsp;with your tea?&nbsp;Have you ever&nbsp;wondered&nbsp;about where that delicious biscuit or&nbsp;refreshing cup of tea came from?&nbsp;Our&nbsp;Fierce Women+ Cookery session&nbsp;might just be for you! We&nbsp;explore,&nbsp;through interactive activities&nbsp;and discussion,&nbsp;the history of our food&nbsp;and where it comes&nbsp;from. There is a baking element of this session, so be ready to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in!&nbsp;
