Description

ND CIC InSight Men’s ADHD Session – Understanding the Brain, the Emotions, and the Path Forward

A straight‑talking, 90‑minute session for men who want clarity — not clichés — about ADHD, emotional regulation, and what actually helps people change.

This is a relaxed, honest space to explore the parts of ADHD that men often struggle to talk about: anger, guilt, shutdowns, pressure, responsibility, motivation, and the feeling of “I should be doing better.”

No judgement. No labels. No over‑simplified online noise.

We’ll look at what ADHD really is, how it affects the male brain and behaviour, and how executive function shapes everything from communication to follow‑through. We’ll also explore the ingredients for real change — the practical, realistic things that help men move forward without perfectionism or shame.

What We’ll Cover

ADHD & Executive Function — the real science

A clear, accessible explanation of how ADHD affects attention, motivation, emotional intensity, working memory, and decision‑making — without turning it into an identity or a life sentence.

Emotional regulation for men

Why emotions hit harder, why reactions can feel instant, and how to build the ability to pause, steady yourself, and respond differently — even under pressure.

Guilt, shame & the internal critic

Understanding why so many men carry guilt about not being “consistent enough,” “calm enough,” or “good enough,” and how to break that cycle with science‑backed strategies.

Ingredients for change

What actually works for ADHD brains: structure, accountability, novelty, environment, and realistic routines — not willpower or self‑blame.

A space to ask real questions

Ask about diagnosis, behaviour, relationships, work, fatherhood, routines, anger, motivation, or anything you’ve never had a straight answer to.

A low‑shame, supportive environment

This isn’t therapy, and it’s not a clinical assessment. It’s a conversation designed to give men clarity, confidence, and practical tools they can use immediately.

Who It’s For

  • Men with ADHD
  • Men exploring whether ADHD may be relevant
  • Men dealing with emotional intensity, guilt, or overwhelm
  • Partners, fathers, professionals, and anyone wanting clearer understanding
