Explore the world of citizen science and help protect your local waterways! Join us for a series of activities focused on monitoring water quality and identifying pollutants on Chestnuts Field from the comfort of the library.
Always wanted to get involved with nature projects and scientific endevours but put off by bad weather and clambering outdoors? This is the perfect event for you! Learn all about the biology Chestnuts Field Wetland without any mobility stresses and weather scares.
This is for beginners so no need for a science background! Refreshments will be provided!
Learn the science of water testing, understand how to interpret pollutant levels, and discover how to contribute to healthier ecosystems in the newly constructed wetlands and the outputs that are flowing into the Dagenham Brook.
All necessary water sampling equipment and testing kits will be provided. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear for outdoor activity.
Everyone is welcome to participate and we will be providing hot drinks and refreshments!
