In celebration of London Rivers Week 2024 ('London is a river city'), join our friendly guides for a walk around the newly excavated wetland where we'll explore the different species of flora and fauna that you can expect to find here. We'll delve into the different insects, birds and mammals that call these habitats home and look at the ponds we have created to help our water-dwelling wildlife. Expect to learn about the importance of urban constructed wetlands for improving wellbeing, water quality and flood protection.
This is a gentle walk around the reserve on both paths and grass - there may be some gentle inclines, strong stout footwear recommended. The walk will last approximately 1 hour and will be fully outdoors - so dress for the weather! We will then stop for tea and coffee before completing some monitoring. There will also be the opportunity to get crafty and paint some wetlands wildlife or create your own bug hotel.
