Oxford’s Sounds: Reimagined

We're collaborating with Cities and Memory to present a unique live show bringing together the sounds of Oxford itself with the talent of its musicians and artists.

Oxford's Sounds: Reimagined will showcase a selection of Oxford's musicians who have worked with a field recording of a sound from the city. Each has then developed a piece of music or a song based on (and containing) that recording, which they will perform live at this event.

This unique project sees artists being inspired by the soundscapes of our home city to create a set of songs that spring from the very sounds of Oxford itself - and a unique live event celebrating the sounds of Oxford as they've never been heard before.

Expect to hear snippets from: Cities and Memory, Kid Kin, Aphra Taylor, Water Pageant, Headphones Wasp, and James Warburton.

Tickets to this event includes free entry to the museum and Sounds of the City exhibition. Doors open at 6pm, with a chance to explore the museum before the performances start promptly at 6:30pm.

Access

There is step-free, level entry access to the Town Hall via the entrance closest to Carfax Tower (to the left of the main steps as you face the Town Hall). Inside the Museum, Museum Makers is accessible via a platform lift to the Galleries and then a lift to the basement.

Accessible toilets are available in the Museum (close to Museum Makers) and in the Town Hall on the ground floor, before entering the Museum.
